But despite the similarities, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says there&#8217;s room enough for two big open-world action-adventure games set in Japan.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2808653156\" data-cy=\"article-video\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"jsx-3649800006 \">&#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of space for very high-quality games, and those two games can sell very well,&#8221; Guillemot said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"jsx-3649800006 \">On what differentiates the two, Guillemot focused on Assassin&#8217;s Creed Shadows&#8217; dual protagonists, which allows players to take control of either a <a class=\"jsx-955973305 underlined\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/who-is-yasuke-assassins-creed-shadows-black-samurai-explained\">ninja or a samurai<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"jsx-3649800006 \">&#8220;The focus is to really make sure that we deliver a fantastic experience with this dual protagonist approach and two different and complimentary gameplays&#8230;. a setting taking place in feudal Japan should be really enticing,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2808653156\" data-cy=\"article-slideshow\"><button type=\"button\" style=\"display:none\" class=\"jsx-2228525885\"\/><\/p>\n<div data-cy=\"slideshow-view-trigger\">\n<div class=\"jsx-2569068517 slideshow-preview\">\n<h3 class=\"title5 jsx-569795787\">Mainline Assassin&#8217;s Creed Games in Chronological Order<\/h3>\n<div class=\"jsx-2569068517 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-2569068517 hero-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ubisoft\u2019s Assassin\u2019s Creed franchise has covered a lot of ground in its 15 years. Indeed, 2025 is shaping up to be a very busy year in general thanks to the expected release of the Switch 2 and GTA VI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"jsx-3649800006 \">To try and give Assassin&#8217;s Creed Shadows a boost, Ubisoft plans to release it <a class=\"jsx-955973305 underlined\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/ubisoft-returning-to-day-1-steam-releases-starting-with-assassins-creed-shadows\">Day 1 on Steam<\/a> in a shift from its previous strategy.
