They also called for &#8220;halting&#8221; the decline of the real estate market and spurring its &#8220;stable recovery,&#8221; according to a CNBC translation of the Chinese text.<\/p>\n<p>The People&#8217;s Bank of China on Tuesday announced a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/09\/24\/chinas-central-bank-chief-set-to-hold-press-conference-days-after-fed-rate-cut.html\">slew of interest rate cuts<\/a> and said it would extend existing support for the real estate market by two years, among other plans.<\/p>\n<p>The Hang Seng Property Development and Management Index was up 10% on the news, led by <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-4\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/960-HK\/\">Longfor<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-5\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/Z2-CN\/\">Vanke<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-6\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.HSI\/\">Hang Seng index<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> advanced 3%, reaching its highest level since May, while mainland China&#8217;s CSI 300 extended its winning streak to the seventh day, hitting its high<em>e<\/em>st levels in nearly two months. The index was 1.58% higher.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-7\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.N225\/\">Nikkei<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> climbed 2.51%, while the broad based Topix was up 2.12%, as the Bank of Japan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boj.or.jp\/en\/mopo\/mpmsche_minu\/minu_2024\/g240731.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released minutes<\/a> of its July meeting.<\/p>\n<p>South Korea&#8217;s <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-9\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.KS11\/\">Kospi<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> jumped 2.41%, powered by gains in chipmaker SK Hynix, which surged over 8%, while the small-cap Kosdaq gained 2.18%.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.skhynix.com\/sk-hynix-begins-volume-production-of-the-world-first-12-layer-hbm3e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SK Hynix announced<\/a> on Wednesday that it had begun mass production of the world&#8217;s first 12-layer HBM3E chip, which are used in AI memory applications.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.AXJO\/\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<\/a> was 0.98% higher.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Overnight in the U.S., both the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.DJI\/\">Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\">S&amp;P 500<\/a>\u00a0slid and retreated from their latest records.
