The move comes after the NTSB investigated a February incident where the pilots of a United Airlines MAX 8 landing in Newark reported their rudder pedals \u201cstuck\u201d in the neutral position.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm1jufmaq0000356k9to60cof@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The warning is the latest black eye for Boeing. The company has seen a string of ugly headlines this year, from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/08\/07\/business\/boeing-ntsb-hearing-alaska-airlines-door-plug\/index.html\">mid-air blowout of a door plug in January<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/09\/22\/business\/boeing-strike-pensions\/index.html\">a strike by 33,000 workers<\/a> that started just this month.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm1jufp3h0006356k4ffbrbyv@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cBoeing\u2019s 737 flight manual instructs pilots confronted with a jammed or restricted rudder to \u2018overpower the jammed or restricted system (using) maximum force, including a combined effort of both pilots,\u2019\u201d the NTSB said in a news release.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm1jufp3h0007356kwx9j08yl@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cThe NTSB expressed concern that this amount of force applied during landing or rollout could result in a large input to the rudder pedals and a sudden, large, and undesired rudder deflection that could unintentionally cause loss of control or departure from a runway,\u201d the statement said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm1jufp3h0008356k7f0yeqhb@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The NTSB is recommending that Boeing come up with an alternative solution and warn pilots about the issue.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm1jufp3h0009356kr9ak3nxf@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            In a statement, the FAA says it \u201cmonitoring the situation closely\u201d and will \u201cconvene a corrective action review board based upon the NTSB\u2019s interim recommendations and determine next steps\u201d on Friday. CNN has reached out to Boeing for comment.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm1jufp3h000a356kgedjr8mv@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The FAA says United Airlines is the only US airline with 737s that use the components in question and that they are no longer being used.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm1jv8uq5000q356kdbd8fowr@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            In the last five years, Boeing has suffered a myriad of problems, some tragic and many embarrassing.
