Interested users with a <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/07\/30\/every-device-that-supports-apple-intelligence\/\">compatible device<\/a> can hop on the <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/09\/19\/ios-18-1-public-beta-1-now-available-with-apple-intelligence-features\/\">iOS 18.1 public beta<\/a> today. For everyone else though, Apple Intelligence is expected <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/09\/23\/ios-181-release-date-heres-when-to-expect-new-features\/\">in mid-to-late October<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Later this month as part of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, Apple will ship <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/09\/27\/ios-181-has-the-first-apple-intelligence-features-heres-whats-coming\/\">its first wave of AI features<\/a> to the masses. And not just the base M4, but three different variations in total. Depending on your MacBook Pro configuration you\u2019ll be able to get the:<\/p>\n<p>Apple is expected to rev all three of its current MacBook Pro models. The lower-end 14-inch, plus the more premium 14- and 16-inch versions.<\/p>\n<p>Details have been sparse on these updates overall. Apple is <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/08\/08\/apple-preparing-major-mac-mini-redesign-for-later-this-year-report-says\/\">prepping an M4 Mac mini<\/a> with a brand new, more compact design. It won\u2019t get quite as small as the Apple TV 4K, but expect a significantly smaller footprint from Apple\u2019s most versatile Mac.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the major hardware redesign, the Mac mini will once again come with a couple different chip options: the M4 and M4 Pro. Three years after its predecessor, the iPad mini 7 is coming soon.<\/p>\n<p>2021\u2019s iPad mini 6 introduced a more modern design, dropping the Home button and thinning its bezels. Expect a similar look for the iPad mini 7, with a focus on internal upgrades. <\/p>\n<p>Since Apple updates the iPad mini so rarely, it usually brings a solid set of improvements. It hasn\u2019t been long since the M3 iMac debuted, so it will be interesting to see if this is just a spec bump. All we know so far is that the M4 will be included, but USB-C accessories are at the top of my wish list. That meant a new base-model iPad would debut in October too, ahead of the holidays.<\/p>\n<p>However, reliable display analyst Ross Young <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/09\/19\/report-m4-macbook-air-and-base-ipad-display-panels-ship-soon-early-2025-release-likely\/\">indicates<\/a> panel shipments for the new iPad aren\u2019t starting until October, which points to a product launch in early 2025. Perhaps Apple is planning a new, separate SKU for the base iPad, with one model in October and another coming in the new year. More likely though, the base iPad just isn\u2019t ready to release yet.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-apple-s-next-launches-wrap-up\">Apple\u2019s next launches: wrap-up<\/h2>\n<p>Apple\u2019s fall is always a busy\u2014and expensive\u2014time for new products.
