As the water levels rose and the plant lost power, management dismissed employees to ensure their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/safety\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">safety<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Impact Plastics told FOX Weather in a written statement that employees were never told they would be fired if they left the facility. Unfortunately, the truck tipped over, leading to the disappearance of five employees and a contractor. Five others who were also on the truck when it tipped over made it to safety and were later evacuated.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Another group of employees escaped the floods by traversing the CSX railroad tracks behind the facility, the company adds. With the assistance of employees from an adjacent company, they reached safety.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/erwin-tennessee-flooded-unicoi-county-hospital\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>\u2018DANGEROUS RESCUE OPERATION\u2019 SAVES DOZENS TRAPPED ON ROOF OF FLOODED TENNESSEE HOSPITAL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"featured featured-video video-ct\">\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"info\">\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p class=\"sub-text\">Waves of raging river water were seen crashing over the Nolichucky Dam in Tennessee as authorities feared its imminent breach on Friday. The Tennessee Valley Authority said the breach could cause potentially life-threatening flooding downstream.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Senior management sought emergency assistance to rescue remaining employees, leading to the deployment of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/military\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Guard<\/a> helicopter, the company said.
