{"id":109742,"date":"2024-10-03T02:22:45","date_gmt":"2024-10-02T19:22:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=109742"},"modified":"2024-10-03T02:22:45","modified_gmt":"2024-10-02T19:22:45","slug":"hurricane-center-tracks-system-that-could-hit-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=109742","title":{"rendered":"Hurricane center tracks system that could hit Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"articleBody\">\n<section>\n<p class=\"\">As Hurricane Kirk gained strength and Tropical Depression Thirteen formed Wednesday but were no threat to land in the Atlantic, the National Hurricane Center was keeping track of system that could develop in the Gulf of Mexico and turn toward Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">As of the center\u2019s 8 a.m. tropical outlook, the system that could mean at least heavy rains for Florida next week, was for now a broad trough of low pressure with a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms running from the southwestern Caribbean Sea up into the southern Gulf of Mexico.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cEnvironmental conditions could support some gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression could form over the weekend as the broader disturbance moves fully into the Gulf of Mexico,\u201d forecasters said. \u201cInterests along the U.S. Gulf Coast should continue to monitor the progress of this system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The center gives it a 40% chance of development in the next seven days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The National Weather Service expects some impact in Florida by early next week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Meanwhile in the Atlantic, an area of low pressure developed into Tropical Depression Thirteen a few hundred miles south-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands with more organized showers and thunderstorms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">As of 11 a.m., the center of TD 13 was located 430 miles southwest of the southernmost Cape Verde Islands moving west at 7 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cA general westward motion is expected for the next day or so followed by a turn more west-northwestward by the weekend,\u201d forecasters said. \u201cGradual strengthening is forecast, and the depression could become a tropical storm by tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">If it does, it will become Tropical Storm Leslie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Already spinning in the Atlantic is Hurricane Kirk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">As of the hurricane center\u2019s 5 a.m. advisory, Kirk was located about 1,200 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands and 1,280 miles east of the Caribbean\u2019s Lesser Antilles moving northwest at 14 mph with sustained winds of 80 mph, which keeps it a Category 1 hurricane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Hurricane-force winds extend out 30 miles and tropical-force-storm winds extend out 195 miles from its center.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cAdditional strengthening is forecast during the next few days, and Kirk is expected to become a major hurricane by Thursday,\u201d forecasters said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">If it does, it would become the third major hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season after Beryl and Helene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The season, which runs from June 1 to Nov. 30, has so far produced 12 official storms including six hurricanes, four tropical storms and a tropical depression as well as one potential tropical cyclone that did not form before making landfall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">After Leslie, the next name on the list is Milton.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__body-align article__body-align-center\"><b>\u2022 \u2022 \u2022<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__body-float article__body-float-left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/hurricane\/2024\/04\/05\/2024-hurricane-season-csu-forecast-florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">5 things to know about the 2024 hurricane season, according to forecasters.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__body-float article__body-float-left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/hurricane\/2024\/04\/03\/forecasters-predict-extremely-active-2024-hurricane-season-heres-why\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forecasters predict \u2018extremely active\u2019 2024 hurricane season.
