Victoria [Hogestyn\u2019s wife] and their children were truly the center of his life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDrake is dearly loved by everyone who ever knew him and he will be missed beyond measure. Live in November 2022. <span class=\"credit\">Todd Williamson\/Peacock via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hogestyn played John Black on \u201cDays of Our Lives\u201d for nearly 40 years before his death. <\/p>\n<p>His on-screen relationship with Hall, who joined the show in 1976, became one of the most famous romances in daytime TV history.<\/p>\n<p>Hall left the show in 1987 for a role on \u201cOur House,\u201d but returned after its cancellation. And that was the beginning of it,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Hogestyn said, \u201cI think John and Marlena epitomize sacrifice to each other and overcoming all of the obstacles that every couple faces every single day. We don\u2019t take that responsibility lightly.
