This is the fifth time the electric truck has been recalled in the last year.<\/p>\n<p><a data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nhtsa.gov\/recalls?nhtsaId=24V718000\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA);cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a> issued the recall due to an image delay from the rear-view camera. The delayed rear-view camera failed to produce an image to the driver of what\u2019s driving behind them within the legally required two seconds, \u201cincreasing the risk of a crash,\u201d according to the official recall notice.<\/p>\n<p><a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/autos-transportation\/tesla-recall-over-27000-cybertruck-vehicles-nhtsa-says-2024-10-03\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Reuters;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em><\/em><\/a> reports that the camera display is caused by a software glitch in the Cybertruck\u2019s system. Some vehicles failed to complete the shutdown process before booting up again, causing a noticeable delay in the rear-view camera of up to eight seconds. So far, no crashes or injuries have occurred as a result of the software issue. Tesla is issuing a software update to address the rear-camera display delays.<\/p>\n<p>This recall is just the latest in a string of notices and hiccups for the D-minus geometry project on wheels just this year. Tesla announced in April that it had to <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/tesla-halts-cybertruck-deliveries-due-to-unexpected-delay-123007030.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:delay deliveries of the Cybertruck;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a> because of accelerator issues, a problem that prompted one of its most infamous recalls later that month due to <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/tesla-is-recalling-cybertrucks-because-their-accelerator-pedals-could-get-stuck-123057430.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:sticky accelerator pedals;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Delivery delays led to another recall for the Cybertruck in June due to safety issues with <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/cybertruck-buyers-say-theyve-been-told-deliveries-are-paused-due-windshield-wiper-problems-173804018.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:the windshield wiper motor and trim;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a>. Several Cybertruck owners including some who just picked up their vehicle reported that the wipers failed to work.<\/p>\n<p>Even virtual versions of the Cybertruck had to undergo repairs shortly after its release. The Cybertruck made an appearance in <a data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/gaming\/the-cybertruck-is-causing-fortnite-players-to-get-cyberstuck-224015466.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Fortnite;cpos:6;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em><\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em>as part of the game\u2019s Summer Road Trip promotion but several players reported a weird glitch when they tried to morph a vehicle into Tesla\u2019s signature truck.
