I wanted to get ahead. I worked really, really hard. I was a major breadwinner in the family,\u201d Donna, 71, told the outlet.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Donna Kelce has opened up about her ill-fated marriage to Ed Kelce, saying the pair stayed married for so many years \u201cfor the kids.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Will Heath\/NBC via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAnd I think it\u2019s important for kids to see that a woman can do whatever she wants, but I did stand still, too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_7-0\">She continued, \u201cMy husband and I knew that our marriage was not working, but we stayed together for the kids.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_7-0\">\u201cOurs was a very friendly relationship. So, we could do that and make sure that their life was normal as possible.
