You stress out the servers. You stress out the host,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/10\/04\/business\/red-lobster-ceo-restaurants\/index.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:told CNN;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">told CNN<\/a>. \u201cPeople can\u2019t get a table. It creates a lot of chaos operationally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Endless shrimp may return at some point down the line, says Adamolekun. If it does, he wants to make sure it doesn\u2019t lead to the kinds of problems it did when it became a permanent menu item.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never want to say never, but certainly not the way that it was done,\u201d he said. \u201cWe won\u2019t have it in a way that\u2019s losing money in that fashion and isn\u2019t managed.\u201dRed Lobster opened in 1968 and became one of the many casual eating options throughout America before stumbling into financial trouble in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>In September, the restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redlobster.com\/news-press\/press\/2024\/09\/05\/red-lobster-receives-court-approval-of-chapter-11-plan-nears-exit-of-bankruptcy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:received court approval;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">received court approval<\/a> for its plan to get out of bankruptcy, allowing Fortress Investment Group LLC to take over, along with other investors that committed more than $60 million to Red Lobster. As part of that transition of power, Adamolekun, who previously served as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fortress.com\/media\/2024-08-26-fortress-appoints-damola-adamolekun-as-ceo-of-rl-investor-holdings-llc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:CEO of P.F. Chang\u2019s;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">CEO of P.F. Chang\u2019s<\/a>, was named CEO as Red Lobster will remain an independent company, while customers can visit any one of its nearly 550 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRed Lobster has a tremendous future, and I cannot wait to get started on our plan with the Company\u2019s more than 30,000 team members across the USA and Canada,\u201d he said when Red Lobster emerged from bankruptcy in September.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRed Lobster is now stronger, more resilient, and ready for a bright new chapter \u2014 supported by our loyal guests, dedicated team members, and new USA-based ownership who are committed to investing in Red Lobster\u2019s future,\u201d the restaurant said in a September Instagram post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DAEdbcRveNo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:announcing it had exited from bankruptcy;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">announcing it had exited from bankruptcy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Even with his optimism, Adamolekun is aware of how much work is ahead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a hole to climb out of, for sure, and that will be the hardest part,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a painful period in bankruptcy, and the closures have affected a lot of people,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Red Lobster has also gotten a boost from an unlikely source: Flavor Flav.
