I could be misinterpreting this woman completely, but this is the feeling I had in the room: The \u2018still\u2019 is conditional. You still love me when I finally give up being trans and give my life over to Christ. They still love me even though I\u2019m some kind of sinner or something. I felt that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSteele explained, \u201cThe room started to feel very wrong to me. I was feeling a little like my transness was on display, I guess, and suddenly that sort of made me feel not great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLast year, Texas Gov. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/greg-abbott\/\">Greg Abbott<\/a> signed Senate Bill 14, banning gender-affirming care for <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/transgender\/\" id=\"auto-tag_transgender\" data-tag=\"transgender\">transgender<\/a> youth. The Texas Supreme Court upheld the decision in June.
