fashion policing.<\/p>\n<p>Two female passengers have accused a Spirit Airlines flight attendant of sexism after he allegedly kicked them off a plane for their choice of dress, as seen in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DAylgiXvGUO\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">viral Instagram video.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just humiliating having to be escorted and treated like a criminal just because we were wearing crop tops,\u201d one of the flyers, named Tara, told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13930753\/women-kicked-spirit-airlines-flight-attendant-outfits.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Mail<\/a> while detailing the alleged blouse arrest.<\/p>\n<p>She and her friend Teresa were flying from Los Angeles to New Orleans to celebrate the former\u2019s birthday when the crewmember singled them out.<\/p>\n<figure cool off, which prompted said flight attendant to chastise them over their choice of runway attire.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWe were harassed by a male flight attendant who told us to \u2018cover up\u2019 because we were wearing crop tops,\u201d Teresa wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Things reportedly got heated after Tara asked the alleged sartorial steward what policy they violated.<\/p>\n<p>A video of the spat shows the flight attendants telling the pair to turn the camera off as they protest their purported mean <em>Spirit-ed<\/em> treatment.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s nothing that says you can\u2019t hold a crop top,\u201d splutters one of the duo in the clip. \u201cDude just chill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s the problem I don\u2019t understand,\u201d says another.<\/p>\n<p>At one point, a fellow passenger declares \u201ca business can\u2019t treat humans this way.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The pair filmed themselves getting booted from the plane. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram \/ @teresa_aroundtheworld<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Teresa wrote in the caption that \u201ceveryone else (including flight staff) agreed though that there was nothing wrong with what we were wearing and that crop tops are not against their dress code.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, they claimed that crewmembers reprimanded passengers who tried sticking up for them, including a lady with a toddler.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, the situation escalated to the point where the flyers were booted from the aircraft without a refund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe then continued to treat us poorly and give us no reasoning as to why he wanted to kick us off,\u201d Teresa wrote. \u201cOther passengers joined in and tried defending us but ultimately a supervisor lied to us and told either we would leave the flight or she would bring the police.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Tara and Teresa claimed they contacted Spirit but have not heard back. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram \/ @teresa_aroundtheworld<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She added. \u201cShe told us she would rebook our flight and then once out of the plane she said there are no flights and also refused a refund.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<p>As a result, the travelers had to fork over $1,000 to book a new flight on a different airline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is appalling service, that in 2024 we are getting kicked out of a plane for ONE MALE flight attendant not liking our shirts,\u201d fumed Teresa. \u201cEveryone working at the airport agreed this was an act of prejudice, discrimination and misogynist and that we should take legal actions.
