Play of the game,\u201d he also reposted a video containing the caption: \u201cWhat in the Eras Tour Travis Taylor Kam Saunders\u2019 brother lore crossover is happening right now\u201d. He and the Saints <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/sport\/2024\/oct\/07\/kansas-city-chiefs-new-orleans-saints-nfl-monday-night-football\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">lost<\/a> to Kelce\u2019s Chiefs at Kansas City\u2019s Arrowhead stadium by a score of 26-13 on Monday with Swift in attendance \u2013 but not until after Khalen Saunders left his mark on the contest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1eu361v\">Late in the third quarter, Kelce caught a pass near the goal line being defended by the Saints, but Saunders tackled him two yards short, with both players\u2019 helmets violently clashing. Kelce seemed visibly shaken after the collision, with one of the television commentators remarking: \u201cThat\u2019s one [he] felt \u2013 I promise ya.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1eu361v\">On the next play, Chiefs quarterback <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/sport\/patrick-mahomes\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">Patrick Mahomes<\/a> aimed a pass at the end zone to teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster. Saints defender Paulson Adebo hit Smith-Schuster as the Chiefs receiver caught the ball, jostling it free.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1eu361v\">Khalen Saunders had instinctively gravitated toward Adebo and Smith-Schuster \u2013 and snatched the ball from the air using one hand as it hurtled toward him. He then ran 37 yards in the opposite direction, setting up a Saints score that temporarily allowed them to pull within three points of the Chiefs before Kansas City ultimately got out of the woods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1eu361v\">At 6ft 1in, 324lb, Khalen Saunders is not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/2024\/apr\/20\/taylor-swift-the-tortured-poets-department-review-joe-alwyn\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">the smallest man who ever lived<\/a>. But he impressed the game\u2019s viewers with how he secured the ball against his body after his first career interception and confidently strode toward the goal line the Chiefs were defending \u2013 which isn\u2019t always the easiest feat for someone his size \u2013 until his opponents finally stopped him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1eu361v\">Among them was Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who suggested on social media that Khalen Saunders must have previously played running back, a position in the sport which primarily involves carrying the football toward the opposing end zone. On his Instagram, Kameron Saunders replied to Murray\u2019s post with: \u201cActually, yes he did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1eu361v\">Khalen Saunders\u2019 connection to Swift through Kameron was a storyline heading into and during the game.
