Welch&#8217;s evening press conference is <strong><u><a class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-link\" rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/StPeteFL\/videos\/1192537695305683\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>City offices remain closed for Friday, Oct. 11, but will re-open for normal business on Monday, Oct. 14.<\/p>\n<h3>City of St. Petersburg Recovery:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Primary recovery focus<\/strong>: Clearing debris from streets to ensure safe passage for residents and city crews.<\/li>\n<li>City crews actively conducted damage assessments and cleared debris from streets throughout the day.<\/li>\n<li>Hundreds of trees have fallen across the city.<\/li>\n<li>Citywide debris pickup will resume once streets are cleared and safe for travel.<\/li>\n<li><strong>100+ traffic signals are down<\/strong> across the city. Residents are reminded to treat downed signals as four-way stops for safety.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Road closures<\/strong>: 1st Ave. N to 1st Ave. S and 3rd \u2013 5th Streets remain closed due to a fallen construction crane. Please avoid these areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Water system updates<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-list\">\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>30 water line breaks, primarily caused by fallen trees, are being repaired by crews working around the clock.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Drinking water has been restored, but the city remains under a boil water notice until Monday, Oct. 14.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Residents should boil water before consumption, but it remains safe for hand washing and showering.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Power Outage Update:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-list\">\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>The City is working closely with Duke Energy to monitor power outages, which remain a critical part of the recovery process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>450,000 households and businesses are without power across Pinellas County.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>To report a power outage, visit: <a class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-link\" rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.duke-energy.com\/outages\" target=\"_blank\">www.duke-energy.com\/outages<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>To report a downed tree on a power line, report it to our Service Center. Include as much detail as possible and a photo (if possible).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Trash &amp; Recycling and Brush Sites:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Brush Sites: <\/strong>Four\u00a0of the five City Brush Sites will be open regular business hours on Friday, Oct. 11. <em>*Check the city&#8217;s website to see if additional sites are able to open.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"TextDiff-diff TextDiff-equal\">1000 62nd Ave. NE<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"TextDiff-diff TextDiff-insert\">2453 20th Ave. N<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"TextDiff-diff TextDiff-delete\">7750 26th Ave. N<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"TextDiff-diff TextDiff-delete\">2500 26th Ave. S<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Trash &amp; Recycling<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-list\">\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Commercial waste will be picked up on Friday, Oct. 11.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Residential trash and recycling will NOT be picked up on Friday, Oct. 11. Damage assessments are still in progress and City teams need to ensure trucks can get through alleys. Updates on the residential schedule are forthcoming.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Debris Reminders:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-list\">\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>The City of St. Petersburg is committed to cleaning up the city from the impacts from Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Debris plans are being made &#8211; but as you clean up your property always remember these three things:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-list\">\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"2\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Put debris on the curb<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"2\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>DO NOT bag debris<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"2\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Always separate debris<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>St. Pete Debris Dump Site &#8211; Raytheon Site<\/h3>\n<p>The City&#8217;s temporary debris management site for residents and their private haulers will be open tomorrow Friday, Oct. 11, from 7:30 a.m. &#8211; 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>What you can bring:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-list\">\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Construction and demolition storm debris<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Vegetative debris<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-listItem\" data-list-indent=\"1\" data-list-type=\"bulleted\">\n<p>Hazardous materials will not be accepted.
