{"id":113388,"date":"2024-10-12T18:19:47","date_gmt":"2024-10-12T11:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=113388"},"modified":"2024-10-12T18:19:47","modified_gmt":"2024-10-12T11:19:47","slug":"aurora-mayor-rips-donald-trumps-grossly-exaggerated-claims-after-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=113388","title":{"rendered":"Aurora Mayor Rips Donald Trump&#8217;s &#8216;Grossly Exaggerated&#8217; Claims After Rally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Mike Coffman, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/topic\/republican\" data-sys=\"1\" class=\"multivariate\">Republican<\/a> mayor of Aurora, Colorado, released a statement after former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/topic\/donald-trump\" data-sys=\"1\" class=\"multivariate\">Donald Trump<\/a>&#8216;s rally in the city on Friday, calling remarks about Venezuelan gang activity in his city &#8220;grossly exaggerated&#8221;, saying they &#8220;have unfairly hurt the city&#8217;s identity and sense of safety.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Aurora gained national attention in August after a video circulated online of supposed armed Venezuelan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/armed-gang-searching-colorado-apartment-anger-1946062\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"multivariate\">gang members<\/a> searching through an apartment complex in the city. Trump has since latched onto the story, using the incident as a way to bolster his claims that the Biden administration&#8217;s immigration policies have let in troves of violent criminals across the southern border.<\/p>\n<p>The former president held a rally in the city, located just east of Denver, on Friday, during which he repeated his claims that Aurora has been &#8220;invaded and conquered&#8221; by migrants. (Photo by Michael Ciaglo\/Getty Images)<\/span><br \/>\n<button onclick=\"toggleCap(this)\" id=\"read-more-cap\">More<\/button><br \/>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;The city and state have not been &#8216;taken over&#8217; or &#8216;invaded&#8217; or &#8216;occupied&#8217; by migrant gangs,&#8221; read Coffman&#8217;s statement, who added that the incidents the city has experienced have been &#8220;limited&#8221; to a few apartment complexes and police &#8220;have acted on those concerns.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"j0294\">Trump has repeatedly invoked imagery about the August incident in Aurora. During his debate against Harris last month, the former president claimed that immigrants were &#8220;taking over the town.&#8221; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"j0294\">&#8220;They&#8217;re taking over buildings. They&#8217;re going in violently,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;These are the people that she and [Presidnet Joe] Biden let into our country. And they&#8217;re destroying our country.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Coffman said in his statement that there were &#8220;thousands of people who attended&#8221; Trump&#8217;s rally on Friday, &#8220;some of whom might have visited Aurora for the first time, who were able to see firsthand the mischaracterizations of our great community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am disappointed that the former president did not get to experience more of our city for himself,&#8221; the mayor added.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has also been rebuked by Republican leaders in Ohio for spreading false claims that Haitian migrants were kidnapping and eating residents&#8217; pets.
