wp-block-nypost-editor-partner-article-links\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>HBO host Bill Maher on Friday offered an \u201copen letter\u201d to Gen Z it girl and pop star Chappell Roan for her recent anti-Israel statements on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cReal Time\u201d host\u00a0addressed Roan, who is openly gay, directly during the \u201cNew Rule\u201d segment of his show, accusing her of being ignorant on Israel\u2019s history and telling the star that she would be in harm\u2019s way in Gaza.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChappell, if you think it was repressive growing up queer in the Midwest, try the Mideast,\u201d Maher said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Roan, who recently exploded into the pop mainstream with songs like \u201cGood Luck, Babe!\u201d and \u201cHOT TO GO!\u201d, has called out the U.S. and the Democratic Party specifically for supporting Israel\u2019s war against terror group Hamas in Gaza following the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel.<\/p>\n<p>She told Rolling Stone in September that\u00a0she declined to perform\u00a0at the White House\u2019s Pride celebration this year in protest of the Biden administration\u2019s support for the war, and in a TikTok video from several weeks ago, ripped the Democratic Party for \u201cgenocidal\u201d positions concerning the Palestinians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut f\u2014 some of the s\u2014 that has gone down in the Democratic Party that has failed people like me and you, and more so Palestine,\u201d\u00a0she said, though she indicated she would still vote for Vice President Kamala Harris as it\u2019s the only alternative to former President Maher joked, \u201cPreach, queer ally, preach!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, he accused her and the rest of Gen Z of getting their anti-Israel talking points from TikTok propaganda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow first off, the fact that you don\u2019t know much about history isn\u2019t your fault. You live in the United States where the schools stopped doing that whole teaching facts thing a while ago. that oppression is bad or that Palestinian and many other Muslim populations are oppressed and deserve to be freed.
