Jeremy Locke joined FOX Weather to talk about their latest mission in a segment sponsored by Tunnel to Towers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><strong>TAMPA <\/strong>\u2013 A small veteran-led nonprofit continues to respond to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/hurricanes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hurricanes<\/a> Milton and Helene, rescuing families from flooding when there was no one else to call and helping communities recover.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/military\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Army<\/a> Veteran Jeremy Locke co-founded Aerial Recovery to help veterans utilize their unique skills to help communities in need, while also helping veterans and former first responders find a new purpose.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Last week, an Aerial Recovery team conducted search and rescue in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/florida\/tampa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tampa<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/florida\/sarasota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sarasota<\/a> areas when Hurricane Milton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/tracking-hurricane-milton-florida\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida<\/a>, as a Category 3 storm with 125-mph winds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/heres-how-you-can-help-hurricane-helene-relief-efforts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>HERE\u2019S HOW YOU CAN HELP PEOPLE AFFECTED BY HURRICANES MILTON AND HELENE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Locke said that as a nonprofit, the group has more flexibility to respond to the most extreme conditions, even during a hurricane. So it&#8217;s our pleasure to go out there and use our unique skill sets to go in these very dangerous situations and just go help people in their greatest time of need.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/helene-hurricane-update-north-carolina-death-toll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hurricane Helene<\/a> caused deadly flooding, claiming hundreds of lives across the Southeast, Aerial Recovery deployed a team to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/north-carolina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Carolina<\/a>. Locke said when the forecast showed Milton making landfall in Southwest Florida, they divided their team to respond to both storms.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/river-flooding-hurricane-milton-hillsborough-county-st-johns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>RECORD FLOODING, SLOW-TO-RECEDE RIVERS PLAGUE FLORIDA AFTER MILTON BLASTED STATE WITH TORRENTIAL RAIN<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;We are designed pretty much for a kind of one disaster at a time, but Hurricane Helene, it was huge.
