Shares of South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix, which manufacturers high bandwidth memory chips for AI applications, for Nvidia surged 2.8%.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung Electronics, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/nvidia-clears-samsungs-hbm3-chips-use-china-market-processor-sources-say-2024-07-23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">which is expected to be manufacturing HBM chips<\/a> for some Nvidia products, saw its shares rise 0.5%.<\/p>\n<p>Shares of<span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/2330-TW\/\"> Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To the Nvidia supply chain, jumped about 2.4% and 3.5%, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Japanese semiconductor manufacturing firm <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-5\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/8035.T-JP\/\">Tokyo Electron<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To heads into the earnings season. Most of the chipmakers&#8217; top customers have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/10\/09\/nvidia-stock-up-25percent-in-a-month-as-stock-closes-in-on-new-record.html\">unveiled technologies and products<\/a> that require hefty investment in Nvidia&#8217;s graphics processing units, or GPUs.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. big tech companies Microsoft, Meta, Google and Amazon have been purchasing Nvidia&#8217;s GPUs in massive quantities to build growing clusters of computers for their advanced AI work. These companies are set to report quarterly results by the end of October.<\/p>\n<p>The rapid surge in Nvidia shares has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/10\/09\/nvidia-stock-up-25percent-in-a-month-as-stock-closes-in-on-new-record.html\">helped it recoup <\/a>earlier losses following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/08\/29\/nvidia-nvda-shares-fall-after-earnings-beat-estimates.html\">the company&#8217;s second-quarter earnings<\/a>.
