(Photo by Kevin Sabitus\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Tom Brady has been on the minds of Las Vegas Raiders fans for more than two decades, ever since the &#8220;Tuck Rule&#8221; game.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Brady is a part owner of the team.<\/p>\n<p>The long and arduous process to make Brady part of NFL ownership concluded when his stake in the Raiders was officially approved by NFL owners at the league&#8217;s fall meetings. Brady was approved on Tuesday by a unanimous vote, <a data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/jjones9\/status\/1846283643028730008\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:according to multiple reports;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">according to multiple reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TomBrady\/status\/1846328038469841397\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:statement;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">statement<\/a> posted to social media on Tuesday, Brady said that he was &#8220;incredibly humbled and excited&#8221; to have been approved as an owner.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m eager to contribute to the organization in any way I can, honoring the Raiders&#8217; rich tradition while finding every opportunity to improve our offering to fans&#8230; and most importantly, WIN football games,&#8221; Brady wrote in the statement.<\/p>\n<p>Brady&#8217;s group includes Knighthead Capital co-founder Tom Wagner and Brady&#8217;s Hall of Fame former Patriots teammate and ex-Oakland Raider Richard Seymour. The group agreed to buy about a 10 percent stake in the Raiders in May of 2023. It was held up initially because the NFL&#8217;s finance committee said Brady was being sold his share at a price that was much lower than the actual valuation of the franchise. The purchase price was <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/tom-brady-reportedly-cleared-final-parameters-to-become-limited-owner-of-raiders-202341345.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:adjusted in February,;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">adjusted in February,<\/a> clearing the way for the sale to go through.<\/p>\n<p>The sale still needed to be approved by three-fourths of the NFL owners, which happened at the fall meetings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited for Tom Wagner, Tom Brady and Richard Seymour to become partners in the Las Vegas Raiders,&#8221; <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MarkMaske\/status\/1846310940306034815\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:principal Raiders owner Mark Davis told reporters on Tuesday;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">principal Raiders owner Mark Davis told reporters on Tuesday<\/a>. &#8220;It\u2019s an exciting day for the organization. It\u2019s an exciting day for all three of those gentlemen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>NFL commissioner Roger Goodell gave the deal his blessing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s great that Tom Brady wants to invest in the NFL,&#8221; <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/nfl-owners-approve-tom-brady-s-bid-to-become-limited-partner-of-las-vegas-raiders\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Goodell said;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Goodell said<\/a> at the league meetings. &#8220;He cares deeply about this game. He believes in its future, and I think that&#8217;s just a signal of that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The complication to Brady being an owner is his work with Fox as a broadcaster, which started this season. He <a data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nfl-owners-send-brady-clear-163307404.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:reportedly isn't allowed;cpos:6;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">reportedly isn&#8217;t allowed<\/a> to sit in on production meetings or attend practices in preparation for his broadcasts.<\/p>\n<p>Brady is one of the key figures in the history of the NFL. He won a record seven Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and set numerous passing records during his 23-year career.
