{"id":115032,"date":"2024-10-17T03:29:10","date_gmt":"2024-10-16T20:29:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=115032"},"modified":"2024-10-17T03:29:10","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T20:29:10","slug":"india-made-horrific-mistake-violating-canadian-sovereignty-says-trudeau-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=115032","title":{"rendered":"India made \u2018horrific mistake\u2019 violating Canadian sovereignty, says Trudeau | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p class=\"article__subhead\"><em>The new Justin Trudeau statement deepens row between India and Canada over New Delhi\u2019s alleged targeting of Sikh dissidents.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div aria-live=\"polite\" aria-atomic=\"true\">\n<p>Canada\u2019s Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2024\/9\/25\/canadas-trudeau-survives-no-confidence-vote-in-latest-test-for-his-govt\">Justin Trudeau<\/a> has accused India\u2019s government of orchestrating violence in the country, the latest chapter in a growing rift over New Delhi\u2019s alleged targeting of Canada-based Sikh separatists.<\/p>\n<p>Trudeau levelled the charges during an inquiry on foreign interference Wednesday, saying there are \u201cever clearer indications\u201d that India violated Canada\u2019s sovereignty by targeting Sikh dissidents in its territory.<\/p>\n<p>India\u2019s actions, Trudeau said, are a \u201chorrific mistake\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The statement comes two days after India and Canada <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2024\/10\/14\/india-furious-as-diplomats-declared-persons-of-interest-in-canada-probe\">kicked out each other\u2019s top envoys <\/a>over the rift, which started with the assassination of Sikh separatist leader <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2023\/9\/19\/india-canada-row-who-was-hardeep-singh-nijjar-what-is-khalistan-movement\">Hardeep Singh Nijjar<\/a> in Vancouver in June 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Later that year, Trudeau said Canada obtained credible evidence to link Indian agents to the assassination of Nijjar, a Canadian citizen who advocated for a Sikh homeland in the form of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2023\/9\/27\/what-is-the-khalistan-movement-how-is-it-linked-to-india-canada-tensions\">independent Khalistani state.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Canadian authorities have since arrested four Indian nationals in connection with the murder, which New Delhi has repeatedly denied involvement in.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, India again rejected claims it was connected to the killing of Nijjar, who it had labelled a \u201cterrorist\u201d. It called the allegations \u201cpreposterous\u201d and a \u201cstrategy of smearing India for political gains\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>However, Trudeau, speaking at Wednesday\u2019s inquiry, said Nijjar\u2019s murder was part of an even more extensive Indian operation, with Indian government representatives systematically targeting dissidents inside Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cViolence towards Canadians \u2026 has been enabled by and in many cases directed by the Indian government,\u201d said the Canadian premier, citing a national police investigation. He added that New Delhi, when presented with the allegations, had simply doubled down \u201con attacks against this government\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>While Canada\u2019s government does not want to pick \u201ca fight with a significant trading partner\u201d, Trudeau said he would not waver when \u201cstanding up for Canadian sovereignty\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"us-accusations\">US accusations<\/h2>\n<p>India\u2019s government has also faced accusations from the United States of attempting to assassinate a Sikh separatist on its soil.
