So did Donald Trump lose the election? No, not by the words that I would use,\u201d Vance told the Williamsport crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Exhaustive investigations have found no evidence of fraud in the 2020 race. Still, Trump has continued to sow doubt in the election result \u2014 and has indicated that he may be unwilling to accept the outcome of this year\u2019s race too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf everything\u2019s honest, I\u2019ll gladly accept the results,\u201d Trump said in May, adding he expects to win \u201cvery big\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He has also threatened to imprison those he perceives as threats to the victory he anticipates for his campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again,\u201d Trump wrote on social media in September.<\/p>\n<p>Vance has been reticent about contradicting Trump\u2019s false election claims. During the October 1 vice-presidential debate, moderators asked Vance, \u201cWould you again seek to challenge this year\u2019s election results?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His reply was indirect. \u201cWe\u2019re focused on the future,\u201d he responded.<\/p>\n<p>That was a theme he reprised on Wednesday in Williamsport. There, Vance told reporters that he is less worried about 2020 and more concerned about what could happen if Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, the US vice president, wins in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know what I care a lot more about than what happened three and a half years ago? Is what Kamala Harris has done in the last three and a half years in office and what she is going to do if the American people give her four years in office,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Vance says he\u2019s focused on listening to voters struggling to deal with the rising cost of living.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe past two weeks I think I\u2019ve been asked eight or nine questions about 2020.
