Instead, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/10\/15\/apple-announces-new-ipad-mini\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced the new iPad mini<\/a> in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s now unclear <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/10\/15\/an-october-apple-event-suddenly-looks-unlikely\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">whether there will be an October event<\/a>, or simply press release announcements for M4 Macs. However, the iPad mini update <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/10\/16\/the-new-ipad-mini-7-is-a-surprisingly-small-update-why-is-that\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">was a rather small one<\/a>, making a low-key announcement appropriate, so this doesn\u2019t <em>necessarily<\/em> rule out a Mac-specific event. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-m4-macbook-pro-production-report\">M4 MacBook Pro production report<\/h2>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitimes.com\/news\/a20241014PD203\/compal-sales-notebook-demand-shipments-2025.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Digitimes<\/a><\/em> reports that key Mac assembler Compaq significantly increased production in September, which would be consistent with readying stock for an October or November launch. This was supported by two Mac component suppliers also reporting increased revenue last month.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Apple is expected to unveil new MacBook Pro models equipped with the latest M4 chip in October, which could boost related component shipments. This trend is evident in the revenue reports from component manufacturers such as Jarllytec and Shin Zu Shing for September.
