Trump made the statement during his appearance on the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/-dmwG54QsKc?feature=shared&amp;t=2771\">PBD Podcast<\/a> \u2014 and said that he won\u2019t let the EU \u201ctake advantage\u201d of US companies like Apple if reelected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">\u201cTwo hours ago, three hours ago, he [Cook] called me,\u201d Trump said. \u201cHe said the European Union has just fined us $15 billion&#8230; Then on top of that, they got fined by the European Union another $2 billion.\u201d In March, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/3\/4\/24005938\/european-commission-antitrust-apple-investigation-anti-steering-rules-app-developers\">the EU fined Apple around $2 billion<\/a> after finding that Apple used its dominance to restrict music streaming apps from telling customers about cheaper subscription deals outside the App Store.
