Their findings, drawn from studies in zebrafish, mice, and human cells, show how this process has persisted over millions of years of evolution. Working with international collaborators, Pauli\u2019s lab used Google DeepMind\u2019s artificial intelligence tool AlphaFold \u2014 whose developers were awarded <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/nobel-chemistry-prize-56f4d9e90591dfe7d9d840a8c8c9d553\">a Nobel Prize<\/a><\/span> earlier this month \u2014 to help them identify a new protein that allows the first molecular connection between sperm and egg.
