He then drove her over 400 miles to his home in Klamath Falls, \u201cstopping along the way to sexually assault her,\u201d the release says.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2gn7adq000g3b6mvcq7znvm@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            At his home, Zuberi moved the victim into a \u201ccell he had constructed in his garage,\u201d the Justice Department release says.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2gnajzv000j3b6mqeiyrf83@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cThe woman repeatedly banged on the cell door\u00a0until\u00a0it broke open and she escaped,\u201d the news release says. \u201cThe victim retrieved a handgun from\u00a0Zuberi\u2019s vehicle,\u00a0fled his garage, and\u00a0flagged down a passing motorist who called 911.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2gnhdsf000m3b6mhg7q2rlg@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Police arrested Zuberi the next day in Reno, Nevada.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2gnhqcz000p3b6mz31jmesj@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The July incident wasn\u2019t the first time Zuberi had kidnapped a victim, according to authorities: During the course of their investigation, federal agents found that about six weeks before, he had kidnapped and sexually assaulted another victim.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2gnkfxx000u3b6mgvoc268a@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cWhile being held by Zuberi, his first victim observed stacked\u00a0cinder\u00a0blocks\u00a0in his garage that he later used to construct the cell\u00a0where he detained his\u00a0second\u00a0victim,\u201d the release says.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2gnmwsf000x3b6m5zj9dam3@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The kidnapping charges are punishable by up to life in prison, according to the release.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2gnns3800103b6mhuiveugp@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The jury deliberated for just over four hours before returning a verdict, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kdrv.com\/news\/top-stories\/breaking-jury-finds-klamath-falls-kidnapping-sex-and-weapons-suspect-guilty-in-four-hours\/article_ee7b3652-8d8e-11ef-a279-43bef5c100fb.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to CNN affiliate KDRV<\/a>.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2go0cp700163b6m1kxnf9ez@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            As part of his closing arguments, Zuberi\u2019s defense attorney, Michael Berthoff, questioned what he framed as discrepancies in the two victims\u2019 testimonies. \u201cThis case is about nothing other than the credibility of\u201d the victims, he said, according to KDRV.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2gntpq500133b6m29nm7q50@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Assistant US Attorney for Oregon Nathan Lichvarcik, alternately, showed photos of one victim\u2019s injuries.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2goapwi001k3b6mtrovhdf2@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cThe doctor at the ER knew it when he saw it;
