href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jama\/fullarticle\/2779985\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">adults 45 to 75<\/a> get screened for colorectal cancer. You can\u2019t just assume it\u2019s a hemorrhoid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/my.clevelandclinic.org\/health\/symptoms\/14612-rectal-bleeding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, rectal bleeding is a symptom of conditions such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn\u2019s disease, colon polyps and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/08\/01\/lifestyle\/aspirin-may-help-lower-colorectal-cancer-risk-in-unhealthy-adults\/\">colorectal cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBlood in your stool can be a life-threatening emergency, and we want to address it,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/07\/25\/lifestyle\/gen-xers-should-invest-in-walking-shoes-comfortable-mattress-boomer-doc\/\">Dr. Terry Simpson<\/a>, a board-certified general surgeon based in California, told his 1 million TikTok followers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@drterrysimpson\/video\/7401147866049203499\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in an August video<\/a>. \u201cIt may be nothing, but it may be something, and it\u2019s not worth betting your life for.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\"\/>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Anemia<\/h2>\n<p>Anemia, when red blood cell counts are low, may reveal that a tumor is bleeding into your digestive tract.<\/p>\n<p>Anemia is present in 30% to 75% of colorectal cancer patients, <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC9949551\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to 2023 research<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no healthy reason a man should be anemic,\u201d Tai said. \u201cThat is the No.1 diagnosis that we look for.
