The National Guard was using tactical vehicles and swift water rescue teams in its effort.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-1\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">A spokeswoman for the New Mexico State Police, Amanda Richards, said in an email that there had been two deaths in the flooding. She did not provide information on the victims or the circumstances of their deaths.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The state police had closed all roads into and out of Roswell early on Sunday and roads into the city remained closed in the afternoon.
