Designer drug linked to Liam Payne and Sean &#8216;Diddy&#8217; Combs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-testid=\"prism-article-body\">\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao MvWXB TjIXL aGjvy ebVHC\"><span class=\"oyrPY qlwaB AGxeB\">LOS ANGELES (KABC) &#8212; <\/span>A <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/liam-payne-had-multiple-drugs-body-time-death-including-pink-cociane-sources\/15450061\/\">partial autopsy has revealed<\/a> that former One Direction singer <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/liam-payne-death-former-direction-singer-dies-after-fall-hotel-argentina-31\/15435786\/\">Liam Payne<\/a> had multiple substances in his system when he plunged to his death from a third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">Toxicology results show he had a mix of drugs including one called &#8220;pink cocaine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">&#8220;The first piece that we almost always see in pink, or pink cocaine, is ketamine &#8211; a dissociative drug, something that makes people feel like they&#8217;re detached from reality,&#8221; former DEA agent Bill Bodner said. &#8220;The second component is psychedelics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">Bodner says that despite its name, there&#8217;s often no cocaine in the toxic mix of drugs, which includes synthetics like ecstasy, methamphetamine and benzodiazepines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">Its name comes from the bright pink color derived from food coloring and may include strawberry flavoring that can be taken as a pill or inhaled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">Pink cocaine is also known by its street name &#8220;tusi&#8221; or &#8220;tuci&#8221; and acts as both a stimulant and a depressant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">&#8220;Very, very cheap to make and they can kind of tailor the drug to what the drug user is looking for,&#8221; Bodner said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">Pink cocaine got its start in Latin American nightclubs as a party drug.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">Recently, it was linked to <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/tag\/sean-combs\/\">Sean &#8220;Diddy&#8221; Combs<\/a> in a lawsuit filed by his former music producer Rodney Jones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">He alleged it was &#8220;required all employees from the butler, the chef to the housekeepers, to walk around with a pouch or fanny pack filled with cocaine, GHB, ecstasy, marijuana gummies (100-250 mg&#8217;s each), and Tuci (a pink drug that is a combination of ecstasy and cocaine).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">But like any drug there are several dangerous side effects on the body and user&#8217;s perception of reality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">&#8220;One of the things around mixtures such as this is people&#8217;s behavior might become unpredictable and they may do things that they wouldn&#8217;t have otherwise done,&#8221; said Dr. Brian Hurley, an addiction psychiatrist with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">Law enforcement and public health officials are warning parents that the designer drug &#8211; with its bright color &#8211; is growing in popularity among its target audience of teens to young adults.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy\">&#8220;No matter where you live or how isolated you think you are from street drugs, now with social media with the smartphone, everyone lives in an open air drug market,&#8221; Bodner said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024 KABC Television, LLC.
