{"id":117324,"date":"2024-10-23T05:23:45","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T22:23:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=117324"},"modified":"2024-10-23T05:23:45","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T22:23:45","slug":"flying-air-taxis-move-closer-to-us-takeoff-with-issuing-of-faa-rule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=117324","title":{"rendered":"Flying air taxis move closer to US takeoff with issuing of FAA rule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Federal regulators gave a strong push to electric-powered <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/toyota-joby-air-taxis-partnership-investment-b2123dfe8519310709193dcf4b525a7a\">air taxis<\/a><\/span> Tuesday by issuing a final rule for operating the aircraft and how pilots will be trained to fly them.<\/p>\n<p>The head of the Federal Aviation Administration, <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/biden-faa-administrator-nomination-896be957be4f98fb0a86764a42121e4d\">Mike Whitaker<\/a><\/span>, said <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/newsroom\/integration-powered-lift-pilot-certification-and-operations-miscellaneous-amendments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the rule<\/a><\/span> recognizes air taxis as an entirely new type of aircraft that will soon join airplanes and helicopters in the sky.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/aviation-paris-olympics-macron-technology-e833949c5f10e72e5f4d883d7036a0ba\">These aircraft<\/a><\/span> take off and land vertically, like helicopters, but fly like fixed-wing planes. <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/airtaxis-sustainability-supernal-hyundai-embraer-ee3c68c97745d947614142be88465bf9\">Many companies<\/a><\/span> are working to get them on the market, but they have been held back by the lack of clarity over regulations to govern their use.<\/p>\n<p>Whitaker said <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/federal-aviation-administration\">the FAA<\/a><\/span> is stressing safety as it works to fold the new aircraft into the nation\u2019s airspace. He said \u201cpowered-lift aircraft\u201d are the first new category of aircraft in nearly 80 years, since the dawn of helicopters, and the rule will allow for their widespread operation.<\/p>\n<p>Air taxi supporters call them a cleaner alternative to passenger planes that burn jet fuel. So far, however, current technology limits their size and likely means that they will be used most often in urban areas. Companies envision carrying people and cargo.<\/p>\n<p>One of the companies in the new field, California-based Joby Aviation, praised the FAA regulation. <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/insider-joeben-bevirt-joby-aviation-97a051ba488c31dd3d5042b2daeff722\">CEO JoeBen Bevirt<\/a><\/span> said the rules \u201cwill ensure the U.S. continues to play a global leadership role in the development and adoption of clean flight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Airlines see air taxis as a way to deliver passengers to airports. Delta Air Lines said in 2022 it would <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/business-ed-bastian-61122c031dc3afd770669079088ddae0\">invest $60 million<\/a><\/span> in Joby, and this month Toyota announced a <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/toyota-joby-air-taxis-partnership-investment-b2123dfe8519310709193dcf4b525a7a\">$500 million investment<\/a><\/span>.
