But I always reserve the right&#8221; to reconsider, he said.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1pe5jgt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->Dimon&#8217;s thinking has not changed since then, a source close to him told Reuters.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1pe5jgt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->However, down the road if there is a position where he can have significant impact in the role then he may consider it, irrespective of the political party, the source added.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1pe5jgt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->The source declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the information.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1pe5jgt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->Dimon took the reins at JPMorgan in 2006. He has emphasized that he and the rest of the board will &#8220;do the right thing&#8221; on succession when he eventually leaves, without specifying details.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1pe5jgt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->He has been outspoken on economic and policy matters and has often celebrated American exceptionalism, including in his widely read annual letter in April.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1pe5jgt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->&#8220;I&#8217;ve always been an American patriot and my country is more important to me than my company,&#8221; he told analysts on a call this month.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1pe5jgt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->The bank declined to comment on the report.
