class=\"group\">\n<p>Asia-Pacific markets mostly rose Tuesday, breaking ranks with major Wall Street benchmarks, while Japanese subway operator Tokyo Metro&#8217;s stellar market debut boosted investor optimism.<\/p>\n<p>Shares of Tokyo Metro <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/10\/23\/tokyo-metro-shares-gain-40percent-on-debut-after-japans-largest-ipo-in-six-years-.html\">climbed 45%<\/a> in early trade.<\/p>\n<p>The company, one of Japan&#8217;s leading subway operators and the largest in Tokyo, raised 348.6 billion yen in its initial public offering, the largest IPO in Japan since 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The IPO was reportedly 15 times oversubscribed and priced at the top end of its pricing band, offering shares at 1,200 yen apiece.<\/p>\n<p>Economic data that will be coming out of Asia includes September inflation numbers from Singapore \u2014 expected to come in at 1.9%, its slowest rise since March 2021, according to a Reuters poll of economists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Japan&#8217;s<span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.N225\/\"> Nikkei 225<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> traded just below the flatline on Wednesday, but the broad-based Topix was up 0.18%<\/p>\n<p>South Korea&#8217;s <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.KS11\/\">Kospi<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> climbed 0.15%, but the small-cap Kosdaq dropped 1.16%.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-4\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.AXJO\/\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> started the day up 0.13%.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.HSI\/\">Hang Seng index<\/a> was marginally higher, while mainland China&#8217;s CSI 300 was trading close to the flatline.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Overnight in the U.S., the <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-6\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\">S&amp;P 500<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> and the <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-7\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.DJI\/\">Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> ended Tuesday marginally lower, both posting a second straight day of losses.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\">S&amp;P 500<\/a>\u00a0ended the session lower by 0.05%, and it was the broad market index&#8217;s first back-to-back loss since early September.<\/p>\n<p>The 30-stock\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.DJI\/\">Dow<\/a>\u00a0slid 0.02%, but the\u00a0<a
