But regardless of whether a team thinks they\u2019re in the playoff race or trending toward a top-10 pick, NFL scouts have been on the road for three months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_m7kjwu1ri\">College football enters <a class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_aoxits\" href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/college-football\/schedule\"><u>Week 9<\/u><\/a>, and several teams have already secured bowl eligibility. With that, the 2025 NFL draft class has some clarity, from risers to fallers and more defined position groups.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_o17t4sfzk\">And while the draft, which takes place April 24\u201326 in Green Bay, Wis., is still six months away, here\u2019s an updated look at the opening round from <a class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_aoxits\" href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/2025-nfl-mock-draft-early-first-round-projections\"><u>our initial mock on Sept. 25<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_f93dhwki2\"><em>Note: The draft order is based on current records.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_6mapib6ff\">1. New England Patriots (1\u20136)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_r847d7hnl\"><strong>Biggest needs:<\/strong> OT, WR, Edge<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_p3fbfo736\"><strong>The pick:<\/strong> Travis Hunter, WR\/CB, Colorado<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_lej8anjsd\">In a roundabout way, the Patriots are in an envious position. They have a talented young quarterback in Drake Maye, the No. 3 pick in the 2024 draft, and currently hold the top choice in \u201925. For coach Jerod Mayo, such a situation means New England can target the draft\u2019s top talent\u2014and Hunter, be it at receiver or corner, certainly qualifies. With 51 catches for 604 yards and six touchdowns, Hunter is a game-changer offensively while shutting down opposing wideouts on defense.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_ant222nnm\">2. Carolina Panthers (1\u20136)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_bgrzjotml\"><strong>Biggest needs: <\/strong>QB, WR, Edge<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_97e92yauy\"><strong>The pick: <\/strong>Cameron Ward, QB, Miami<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_03npk6jsa\">The Panthers benched 2023 No. 1 pick Bryce Young after just two games, and veteran backup Andy Dalton is 1\u20134 in his five starts. Carolina\u2019s offense is No. 28 in the NFL in passing and, if it continues down the path of giving up on Young, will need a new long-term answer under center. Enter Ward, who leads college football in passing yards (2,538) and touchdowns (24) while completing 68.7% of his passes.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_5kn7vrhvq\">3. Cleveland Browns (1\u20136)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_13bd9nyl0\"><strong>Biggest needs:<\/strong> QB, OT, WR<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_c30odd1ew\"><strong>The pick:<\/strong> Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_r21qwpous\">After Deshaun Watson\u2019s Achilles tear Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals prematurely ended an already disappointing season, the Browns appear headed toward drafting a quarterback. Sanders is perhaps the best-known player in the draft class, a tag that comes with being the son of Deion Sanders. But Shedeur Sanders, with added attention this fall, has shined. He\u2019s No. 5 in passing with 2,268 yards and has thrown 19 touchdowns, leading Colorado to a 5\u20132 record.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_phwl28zek\">4. Tennessee Titans (1\u20135)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_52c5du3i9\"><strong>Biggest needs:<\/strong> QB, OT, WR<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_0tq662sow\"><strong>The pick:<\/strong> Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_4fq9qabfm\">The Titans have questions at quarterback, as Will Levis is averaging only 139.8 passing yards per game and has thrown more interceptions (seven) than touchdowns (five). But Levis is also in a less-than-ideal environment\u2014Tennessee\u2019s offensive line and receiving corps need improvements. At 6&#8217;5&#8243;, 212 pounds, McMillan is a big-bodied wideout with tremendous ball skills. After a breakout 2023 season in which he caught 90 passes for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns, McMillan leads the Big 12 and ranks No. 6 nationally with 780 receiving yards this season.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_3jld9y0iz\">5. New York Jets (2\u20135)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_cbryskyb3\"><strong>Biggest needs:<\/strong> Edge, DL, CB<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_3fufw9wke\"><strong>The pick:<\/strong> Will Johnson, CB, Michigan<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_ztwhtq2do\">New York has received strong play from cornerback D.J. Reed, but he\u2019s in the final year of his contract. Johnson is not only the draft\u2019s top true corner but one of the best players. He\u2019s a sticky cover corner with instincts and ball skills\u2014he\u2019s recorded two pick-sixes this year and has nine interceptions across his three-year Michigan career. Adding Johnson to a defense with Sauce Gardner gives the Jets perhaps the NFL\u2019s best cornerback tandem.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_rfcj04a6g\">6. New Orleans Saints (2\u20135)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_36risy8vl\"><strong>Biggest needs:<\/strong> DL, WR, TE<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_c8wfkv0tr\"><strong>The pick:<\/strong> Mason Graham, DL, Michigan<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_wp8jj799k\">The Saints\u2019 defensive line, once one of the strongest in the league, is a shell of its former self. New Orleans ranks No. 29 in run defense, No. 28 in pass defense and is tied for No. 28 in sacks with 15. Graham, who\u2019s played a majority of three-technique defensive tackle on Michigan\u2019s four-man front, offers a solution. The 6&#8217;3&#8243;, 320-pound Graham has 3.5 sacks and five tackles for loss this season while accumulating 21 quarterback pressures, according to <a class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_aoxits\" href=\"https:\/\/premium.pff.com\/ncaa\/players\/2024\/REGPO\/mason-graham\/158535\/defense\"><u>Pro Football Focus<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_j0h5uyssl\">7. Jacksonville Jaguars (2\u20135)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_gjoykoins\"><strong>Biggest needs:<\/strong> OT, OG, DB<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_rbzjk64o2\"><strong>The pick: <\/strong>OT Kelvin Banks Jr., LSU<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_dib1m7vzm\">Jacksonville\u2019s offensive line dominated the Patriots in a Week 7 victory in London, but the Jaguars and quarterback Trevor Lawrence still need help. Banks is an elite pass protector; he\u2019s allowed only one sack and two quarterback hurries all season. He\u2019s started all 34 games played at left tackle and was a second-team All-American in 2023. Milroe ranks second in the SEC with 11 rushing touchdowns, adding 330 yards on the ground. His play in the pocket and within structure falters at times, and he\u2019s far from a finished product\u2014but for a Vegas squad searching for hope, Milroe\u2019s upside is tantalizing.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_7vu6yrnf6\">9. While it\u2019s uncertain whether Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen will be the ones making this pick, Ewers is a logical solution. His brief mid-game benching against Georgia aside, Ewers, a former five-star recruit, has the talent that warrants this selection. In five starts this year, he has completed 68.2% of his throws for 1,101 yards and 11 touchdowns to four interceptions. He\u2019s inconsistent, but his highs are quite impressive.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_tun2ccgmh\">10. Miami Dolphins (2\u20134)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_vp269wppy\"><strong>Biggest needs: <\/strong>OL, DT, CB<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_8hpwaaimz\"><strong>The pick: <\/strong>Will Campbell, OT, LSU<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_j6d5jmd3t\">The Dolphins\u2019 offense has been dismal without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and struggles along the offensive line\u2014which have existed since Week 1\u2014are part of the reason. Campbell has been a Day 1 starter at left tackle since arriving at LSU in 2022, earning 33 consecutive starts. He hasn\u2019t allowed a sack in his last 22 games, and his presence would be a welcome addition to Miami\u2019s front five.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_cpjsse5u0\">11. Los Angeles Rams (2\u20134)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_14n1ogohb\"><strong>Biggest needs:<\/strong> LB, CB, OT<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_v00gm9quy\"><strong>The pick: <\/strong>Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_g24dl4b18\">The Rams\u2019 secondary has battled injuries throughout the season, losing corners Derion Kendrick and Tre Tomlinson to injured reserve, but has still been middle of the road against the pass. Los Angeles is starting a makeshift secondary as a result, but it still lacks a true shutdown corner. Morrison, who will miss the remainder of the season with a hip injury but was in the midst of a strong junior season, fits the bill. Morrison allowed only 12 receptions for 125 yards on 27 targets this season, according to <a class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_aoxits\" href=\"https:\/\/premium.pff.com\/ncaa\/players\/2024\/REGPO\/benjamin-morrison\/156968\/defense\"><u>Pro Football Focus<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tagStyle_12j16kw-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_v1qtqrx2a\">12.
