Then an outfit change prompted a makeup artist to begin camouflaging the scars from Munn\u2019s double mastectomy and reconstruction surgeries, part of her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/olivia-munn-shares-breast-cancer-diagnosis-and-double-mastectomy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">treatment for breast cancer<\/a>. Munn had an idea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cWe were in the middle of the shoot and we were changing an outfit that could see more of my scars, and so the makeup artist was touching up my scars, and then we got to the double-mastectomy scars and they were really hard to cover up,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd then I was looking in the mirror and I just thought, I\u2019m done being insecure about my scars.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"InstagramEmbedContainer-jbvDdB fqCzHK\">\n<div class=\"MessageBannerWrapper-krrtvl ilxjKE ConsentBannerWrapper-bMdLtU WTFWJ\" data-testid=\"message-banner\">\n<div class=\"BaseWrap-sc-gjQpdd BaseText-ewhhUZ MessageBannerContent-gLUJfX iUEiRd hfDfPc lbXvvx\">\n<h4 class=\"ConsentBannerTitle-lgaGAH gOfech\">Instagram content<\/h4>\n<p>This content can also be viewed on the site it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DBeFbhsxmqU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Opens in a new window\" class=\"BaseWrap-sc-gjQpdd BaseText-ewhhUZ BaseLink-eNWuiM ConsentBannerLink-dJZMSz iUEiRd hfDfPc joAuXZ\">originates<\/a> from.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The actor, who revealed her diagnosis of Luminal B breast cancer in both breasts in March, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/story\/how-olivia-munn-is-protecting-her-familys-future-amid-aggressive-breast-cancer-battle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">froze her eggs<\/a> and has also had procedures to remove her fallopian tubes and ovaries in addition to her mastectomy and reconstruction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">As she told <em>Vogue<\/em> in May, \u201cAggressive cancers need aggressive treatments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">She and husband <strong>John Mulaney<\/strong> welcomed their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/story\/olivia-munn-and-john-mulaney-welcome-baby-girl-via-surrogate-mei-june\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">second child together, daughter <strong>M\u00e9i June<\/strong><\/a>, via surrogate in September, making their son <strong>Malcolm<\/strong> a big brother.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Instead of having the makeup artist camouflage her scars, Munn said, she asked a question.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cI said, \u2018What do you guys think about showing my scars in this campaign?&#8217; And they were so amazing and thoughtful and wonderful.
