This firmware update brings support for the powerful new health features: Hearing Test, Hearing Aid, and Hearing Protection.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-975027\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-firmware-arrives-ahead-of-ios-18-1-s-launch-next-week\">Firmware arrives ahead of iOS 18.1\u2019s launch next week<\/h2>\n<p>AirPods Pro 2\u2019s newest firmware carries build number <strong>7B19<\/strong>. It is rolling out to all users now.<\/p>\n<p>Once installed, AirPods Pro 2 users will also need to update to iOS 18.1 before they can use the new hearing health features.<\/p>\n<p>Here are Apple\u2019s release notes for the new additions:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hearing Test<\/strong> feature provides scientifically-validated hearing test results from the comfort of home (intended for users 18 years or older)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hearing Aid<\/strong> feature provides personalized, clinical-grade assistance that is automatically applied to sounds in your environment as well as music, videos, and calls (intended for users 18 years or older with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hearing Protection<\/strong> feature helps users minimize exposure to loud environmental noise across listening modes (available in the United States and Canada)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Apple has confirmed that iOS 18.1 is arriving next week\u2014likely on Monday, October 28.<\/p>\n<p>The update brings a ton of <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/10\/21\/ios-18-1-apples-full-release-notes\/\">new capabilities<\/a> to iPhone users, especially ones with an <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/every-device-that-supports-apple-intelligence\/\">Apple Intelligence-compatible device<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These new <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3NDvWs4\">AirPods Pro 2-exclusive<\/a> health features are among the standout additions outside of Apple Intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>To check what firmware version you\u2019re running, open your AirPods Pro\u2019s settings from inside the Settings app, then scroll to the bottom to the Version section.
