He jogged around the bases as Dodger Stadium erupted in delirium, celebrating their team somehow stealing a 6-3 Game 1 win.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2q43bbp0005356mzglkjeuq@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Now, just a day later, the Yankees must regroup from their last-gasp loss for Game 2 on Saturday evening as they face the Dodgers on the LA team\u2019s home turf once again.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2q56ufz000d356m0np9rv5v@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            For the Dodgers, Game 2 marks a golden opportunity to stamp their authority on the series while they are filled with confidence before they travel to New York for the next two games at least.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2q43bbp0006356mzl5nfo7c@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cTo come out 1-0 is a huge start,\u201d said Freeman after the game.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2q43bbp0007356mt5au3rcn@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The Dodgers are now three wins away from a World Series triumph and, historically, the teams who have won Game 1 have gone onto win the series 121 of 191 times (65%) of the time.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2q57gus000f356mv93x3sov@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Since 1995, that increases to 23 of 29 times (79%) and in the current 2-3-2 format, teams who have won Game 1 at home have href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/dodgers-win-world-series-game-1-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">per MLB.com<\/a>. \u201cAt the end of the day, we\u2019re the two best teams out here, so we\u2019re going to come here with our heads held up high, with confidence, and go out here and compete again.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" Both teams are stacked full of star talent and the Yankees can rely on the likes of Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton to pull off the impossible, like Freeman did for the Dodgers.\n data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The way in which the Yankees utilize their ballpen will be heavily scrutinized in Game 2 as well after manager Aaron Boone\u2019s decision for Nestor Cortes to pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning. Cortes hadn\u2019t pitched since September 18 after suffering a left elbow flexor strain, but was brought in to challenge the Dodgers\u2019 left-handed pair of Ohtani and Freeman.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2q43bbp000c356m4f8gfh1f@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cIf I wasn\u2019t ready enough and I wasn\u2019t healthy enough, I would not have done it. And they wouldn\u2019t have allowed me,\u201d Cortes said after the game, per MLB.com. \u201cSo I think we\u2019re in a good spot. I\u2019ll get another opportunity. We\u2019ve got to win four games in this Series. It was right there on our fingertips, but we\u2019re going to come back tomorrow strong.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\"
