The Florida couple had been drinking chardonnay and doing puzzles in their Winter Park apartment.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2ql78ra0004356mat5ei25t@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            They thought \u201cit would be funny\u201d to hop in a suitcase as a part of the game, according to an arrest affidavit from the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Office.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2ql78ra0005356mu3m7a9nm@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            When Boone zipped up Jorge Torres Jr., <a href=\"https:\/\/sao9th.com\/sarah-boone-found-guilty-of-leaving-boyfriend-to-suffocate-to-death-in-suitcase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">42<\/a>, in a blue suitcase, two of his fingers stuck out, so she assumed he could open it, according to the affidavit.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2ql78ra0006356moomi6zn5@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            She went upstairs to bed and thought he would get himself out of the suitcase and join her, only to wake up and find him still in it and not breathing, the affidavit said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2ql78ra0007356me7hy124m@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cEvidence presented during the trial included videos found on Boone\u2019s phone where Torres could be heard frantically pleading to be released while Boone laughed and rebuffed him several times,\u201d a release from State Attorney\u00a0Andrew Bain\u2019s office <a href=\"https:\/\/sao9th.com\/sarah-boone-found-guilty-of-leaving-boyfriend-to-suffocate-to-death-in-suitcase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2ql78ra0008356m267iemid@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cIn the videos she recorded, the victim could be heard telling the defendant he could not breathe and asking to be let out of the suitcase,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/sao9th.com\/sarah-boone-found-guilty-of-leaving-boyfriend-to-suffocate-to-death-in-suitcase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release<\/a> added. \u201cBoone responded with, \u2018That\u2019s what you get,\u2019 \u2018That\u2019s what I feel like when you cheat on me\u2019 and other taunts.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2ql78ra000a356m3sfqlii8@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cI can\u2019t f**king breathe, seriously,\u201d her boyfriend said in the phone video.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2ql78ra000b356mmnuobugd@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The video shows Torres pushing on the suitcase and trying to get out, the affidavit said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2ql78ra000d356m4f3z3vl6@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            During the <a href=\"https:\/\/sao9th.com\/sarah-boone-found-guilty-of-leaving-boyfriend-to-suffocate-to-death-in-suitcase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10-day<\/a> trial, Boone\u2019s defense said she was suffering from \u201cBattered Spouse Syndrome\u201d and was in fear for her life, CNN affiliate WFTV <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/news\/local\/orange-county-jury-finds-sarah-boone-guilty-second-degree-murder-suitcase-murder-case\/7RHJHOTCQBHKTOA5X7D5PCDSWU\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.
