But there was no secret lover, as Martha maintains. Andy knew everything Martha was up to, was aware of every guy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the insider, \u201cAndy\u2019s just very pissed off\u201d that Martha\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/10\/19\/us-news\/martha-stewarts-ex-hubby-furious-over-documentary-revelation\/\">using him and their failed marriage <\/a>\u2014\u00a0which <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/10\/22\/entertainment\/martha-stewart-hasnt-spoken-to-ex-she-cheated-on-in-20-years\/\">ended more than three decades ago<\/a> \u2014 to promote \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/81479059\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Martha<\/a>,\u201d the much-hyped Netflix documentary about her life that begins streaming Wednesday.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>In doing promo for the doc, Stewart has revealed she cheated on her ex-husband and kept it a secret. But sources told The Post Andrew Stewart was well aware. <span class=\"credit\">WireImage<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In promoting the film, Martha, 83, has admitted to cheating on Andy during their marriage. She boasts it was \u201cvery easy\u201d to keep her claimed affair a secret from him for some three decades, advising viewers, \u201cYou have to be circumspect\u201d \u2014 meaning being wary and unwilling to take risks.<\/p>\n<p>As the author of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/r.nypostlink.com?btn_ref=org-19984c113c692001&amp;btn_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FMartha-Stewart-Desserts-Unauthorized-Biography%2Fdp%2F0688146899%3Ftag%3Dnypost-20%26asc_refurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fnypost.com%2F2024%2F10%2F27%2Fentertainment%2Fmartha-stewarts-sexy-secrets-cheating-naked-parties-more%2F%26asc_source%3Dweb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">Just Desserts<\/a>,\u201d the New York Times bestseller about Martha, I revealed that she was, in fact, a risk-taker when it came to indiscretions outside of her marriage.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Among other incidents, sources told me how Martha once ran off for a night with a handsome stranger she and Andy met on their honeymoon in England, leaving her groom shocked and forced to sleep alone. Later, she would allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/05\/17\/sports-illustrated-swimsuit-model-martha-stewarts-sinful-life\/\">host swinger-like pool parties<\/a> \u2014 flirting and cozying up to male guests \u2014 at Turkey Hill, the Westport, Conn., estate made popular in her magazine, Martha Stewart Living, and on her TV shows.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Stewart was the subject of a 1997 New York Times bestseller by Jerry Oppenheimer, called \u201cJust Desserts.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cMen chasing Martha, or her involvements, real or imagined, was never a secret to Andy, or to the couple\u2019s close friends back in the day,\u201d alleged the insider. \u201cMartha will do anything for the publicity factor and to stay in the public eye as she ages, even literally boasting publicly about cheating on her husband. It\u2019s all very bizarre. Only a woman with little or no morality, with no respect for the sanctity of marriage, would brag like that just to hype a film about her, and get media attention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Married in 1961, the Stewarts had a daughter, Alexis, five years later. But the marriage fell apart as Martha\u2019s fame and independence grew. The Stewarts separated in 1987, and their acrimonious divorce was finalized in 1990. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Among other incidents, sources said Martha  (seen here in 1976) once ran off for a night with a handsome stranger she and Andy met on their honeymoon in England.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Stewart started her lifestyle business at the Westport, Conn., home she shared with ex-husband Andrew. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Andy, now in his 80s, subsequently married Martha\u2019s assistant Robin Fairclough but that union, too, ended in divorce. He\u2019s now married for a third time, while Martha has remained  single.<\/p>\n<p>Martha would allegedly denigrate him in front of others, calling him \u201cboring, disgusting, oafish,\u201d and treat him more like a reviled servant than the husband who many considered to be the brains behind Martha\u2019s early publishing successes, according to sources.<\/p>\n<p>During one of those verbal fights, as detailed in my book, Martha claimed she had slept with another man while on a business trip to Los Angeles. Andy was shocked, but Martha dismissed the claimed tryst as \u201ca one-time thing \u2026 unimportant \u2026 uninteresting \u2026 merely an experiment.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Martha would allegedly denigrate Andrew in front of others, calling him \u201cboring, disgusting, oafish,\u201d sources claimed. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Stewart filmed TV episodes at her Connecticut kitchen \u2014\u00a0where she also allegedly held naughty pool parties. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But others in the Stewarts\u2019 orbit back in the day, such as the writer Jonathan Fast, third husband of novelist Erica Jong, were aware of Martha\u2019s playing around \u2014 sometimes in the hot tub outside Fast\u2019s bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople were cavorting naked,\u201d recalled a male friend of Martha\u2019s about those gatherings. The same kind of kinky activity occurred at the Stewarts\u2019 home.<\/p>\n<p>On one occasion at Turkey Hill, Fast recalled, \u201cMartha spent the whole evening flirting with a very good-looking and very successful married banker. The flirtation was extremely blatant and aggressive. I felt left out because Martha wasn\u2019t flirting with me. She was very good-looking, but she just always seemed very cold and manipulative and cutthroat.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The Stewarts were married from 1961 to 1990. <span class=\"credit\">Netflix<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Sources told of Stewart \u201caggressively\u201d flirting with a married banker while she was wed to Andrew. <span class=\"credit\">Netflix<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Erica, he added, \u201cthought Martha was a bitch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Martha has recently boasted that she kept an affair secret from Andy \u201cfor 30 years,\u201d Erica Jong, who had been a classmate of Martha\u2019s at Barnard College, believed otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI always heard that she was involved with people, that she was having lots of affairs,\u201d Jong asserted.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cFear of Flying\u201d novelist Erica Jong (seen here with former husband Jonathan Fast), who attended college with Martha, said she heard Martha had \u201clots of affairs.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Post has reached out to Martha\u2019s rep for comment.<\/p>\n<p>During her rise to the top, Martha became a stockbroker for a time, and used her feminine wiles and her \u201cgreat legs,\u201d as one associate recalled, to generate business. One who flipped for her was a married stockbroker and co-worker, Brian Dennehy, who later became a popular actor.<\/p>\n<p>The two became close and had what Dennehy called a \u201cstrong mutual attraction\u201d; he also told me that he couldn\u2019t keep his eyes off of her. \u201cIn those days, she was skinny and gorgeous, and extremely sexy,\u201d Dennehy said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Martha had worked with future actor Brian Dennehy, who called her \u201cmy dream girl.\u201d She later pursued him, after her divorce, but he noted that she \u201cintimidates\u201d men. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While Dennehy claimed they never had an affair, he acknowledged, \u201cI would fantasize about being involved with her.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Andy allegedly suspected his wife\u2019s boss, Andy Monness, of the firm Monness, Williams &amp; Sidel, also had a \u201cthing\u201d for Martha. Monness denied any sort of affair, accept to rave about her: \u201cMartha was my dream girl. She had the magic.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>At one point, fed up with her teasing and flirting, Andy allegedly had to confront one of Martha\u2019s more avid pursuers, millionaire Andrew J. Stein, who once ran unsuccessfully for mayor of New York. Stein told me he sent her flowers and taken her out for drinks at Raffles, a romantic private club at the Sherry-Netherland Hotel.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Dennehy, who died  in 2020, said he and Stewart \u2014\u00a0seen here at an October 16 party \u2014 had a \u201cstrong mutual attraction.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for NYCWFF<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Last year, Martha was one of the cover models for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. <span class=\"credit\">Ruven Afanador\/Sports Illustrated<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Stein called it \u201cplayful flirting,\u201d and Martha was flattered by the attention. He thought she had a \u201cgreat look, and her response to me was friendly enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But a fuming Andy had finally had it. When Stein went too far with his calls to Martha, <strong>he told me<\/strong>, Andy finally got on the phone with a warning: \u201cKeep the f\u2013k away from my wife!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And Stein did.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Millionaire Andrew J.
