Rumors have suggested Apple will release a $1,000 model <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/8\/14\/24220475\/apple-next-big-project-tabletop-robot-ipad\">with a robotic arm <\/a>that moves the display around, but that\u2019s not expected until 2026 at the earliest, he reiterates today. Both devices are expected to run bespoke versions of some Apple apps, like FaceTime, Calendar, and Notes, and to work with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/6\/10\/24175405\/wwdc-apple-ai-news-features-ios-18-macos-15-iphone-ipad-mac\">Apple Intelligence<\/a>, which Apple\u2019s current smart home devices don\u2019t support. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">I\u2019m on the record as loving the look of the iMac G4 (I do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/10\/19\/24274206\/imac-g4-docklite-g4-external-monitor-display-hdmi-conversion-apple-silicon-mac\">use one as an external display<\/a>, after all). And the idea that the rumored robotic display might look like it is attractive, especially in light of those early Apple ads that made the iMac G4 move around like the Pixar lamp. If Apple releases and adorable little smart home rendition of the iMac G4 \u2014 robotic or not \u2014 that I can plop on my countertop to use for timers or YouTube videos while I cook dinner?
