They did lower the price earlier this year, from $449 to $349, but we should finally see a real refresh next spring. Here\u2019s what to expect.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-975266\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-apple-intelligence\">Apple Intelligence<\/h2>\n<p>The next gen <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3CaF9pk\">entry-level iPad <\/a>will likely have support for the Apple Intelligence, although it\u2019s unclear on what chipset it\u2019ll use. It\u2019s likely to be the A18 chip, given the fact that the first generation 3nm process is costly. Apple is likely only using the A17 Pro chip in the new <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YFuvQw\">iPad mini<\/a> because there were readily available binned chips, left over from the iPhone 15 Pro manufacturing process.<\/p>\n<p>That means you\u2019d be able to take advantage of features like notification summaries, Image Playground, Genmoji, the all-new Siri, ChatGPT, and more on the new <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3CaF9pk\">iPad<\/a>. This would be a step up from Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 on the current entry-level iPad, allowing for lower latency and so on.<\/p>\n<p>Apple is also <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/09\/01\/new-magic-keyboard-ipad\/\">working on<\/a> a new lower-end Magic Keyboard for iPads, which the iPad 11 could possibly support. This would be a more traditional keyboard design, rather than the folio style that the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3CaF9pk\">iPad 10<\/a> currently sports.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll also potentially see support for Apple Pencil Pro. There aren\u2019t rumors suggesting this, but Apple could potentially update the magnet placement to allow for Pencil Pro support. When Apple released the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3CaF9pk\">iPad 10<\/a> in 2022, the Apple Pencil 2 couldn\u2019t work with the landscape front camera.<\/p>\n<p>Although, it could end up being a cost thing, as Apple would also have to add the wireless charging coil. We\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-release-date\">Release date<\/h2>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/newsletters\/2024-10-27\/apple-m4-macbook-pro-mac-mini-imac-launch-details-ios-18-2-chatgpt-testing-m2rl1vws?cmpid=BBD102724_POWERON&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=newsletter&amp;utm_term=241027&amp;utm_campaign=poweron\">Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman<\/a>, Apple is indeed planning to release the iPad 11 next spring, alongside the <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/iphone-se-4-next-year\/\">iPhone SE<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/10\/12\/ipad-air-2025-roundup\/\">iPad Air<\/a>, and more:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>It will have roughly the same design as the current version from 2022, while getting\u00a0a speed boost.
