The update, with build number 7B19, brought support for the new features being added today as part of iOS 18.1.<\/p>\n<p>AirPods Pro 2 users running firmware 7B19, and iOS 18.1 on their iPhone, will gain access to three powerful new hearing health capabilities: Hearing Test, Hearing Aid, and Hearing Protection.<\/p>\n<p>Here is how Apple describes these new additions:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hearing Test<\/strong>\u00a0feature provides scientifically-validated hearing test results from the comfort of home (intended for users 18 years or older)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hearing Aid<\/strong>\u00a0feature provides personalized, clinical-grade assistance that is automatically applied to sounds in your environment as well as music, videos, and calls (intended for users 18 years or older with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hearing Protection<\/strong>\u00a0feature helps users minimize exposure to loud environmental noise across listening modes (available in the United States and Canada)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For a glimpse into how some of these new features work, you can check out <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2024\/10\/21\/airpods-pro-2-hearing-health-features-launch-date\/\">our previous coverage here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These new features are currently exclusive to the AirPods Pro 2.
