Moturi, who was gravely injured, lives next door to Sawchak in the 3500 block of Grand Avenue S.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"rt-Box w-full\">\n<p class=\"rt-Text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/daviss-recovery-from-hate-crime-attack?cdn-cache=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In an online fundraiser<\/a>, Caroline Moturi detailed how the harassment began when the family moved into their home next door in September 2023.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"rt-Box w-full\">\n<p class=\"rt-Text\">\u201cWhat should have been the start of a wonderful chapter with my husband became a living nightmare,\u201d she wrote. \u201cShortly after moving in, our neighbor began harassing us, threatening us, and stalking us. Despite multiple calls to the police for help, we were consistently informed nothing could be done. At one point, an officer who responded to our distress told us to \u2018just move out.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"rt-Box grid gap-2 col-span-full md:col-span-8\">\n<div class=\"rt-Box grid gap-2 md:gap-3 md:grid-flow-col \">\n<div class=\"rt-Box grid self-start col-span-12 \"><img alt=\"\" data-testid=\"inlineImage\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"0\" height=\"0\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"object-contain h-auto w-full\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/arc.stimg.co\/startribunemedia\/3YEIJASSX5CEBLYSBFIVJJVJ74.JPG?&amp;w=712\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Davis Moturi was hospitalized after being shot while outside his home in south Minneapolis. His neighbor has been charged with attempted murder. The bullet fractured his spine and broke two ribs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"rt-Box w-full\">\n<p class=\"rt-Text\">Caroline Moturi detailed in the online fund-raiser that the shooting left her husband with a concussion and blood accumulating in his lungs.
