Most of the illnesses were n Colorado.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2s8tumo001p3b6mz0p9bv94@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            A\u00a0specific ingredient has not been confirmed as the source of the outbreak,\u00a0but the US Food and Drug Administration\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/food\/outbreaks-foodborne-illness\/outbreak-investigation-e-coli-o157h7-mcdonalds-quarter-pounders-october-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0last week that the slivered onions or beef patties on Quarter Pounder sandwiches are the most likely source of contamination.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2tj1czv00003b6mwj1ven7z@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The US Department of Agriculture\u2019s Food Safety and Inspection Service said Monday that evidence does not point to ground beef as the probable source of the E. coli outbreak.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2tjj2nd00043b6nn6znppf9@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cFSIS has conducted a thorough investigation in response to this outbreak, including traceback of beef patties served on Quarter Pounders at McDonald\u2019s,\u201d the agency said in a statement. \u201cFSIS used specific meal information reported by ill people to trace beef patties through the supply chain to the establishment where they were produced and did not identify a beef source.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2s7sy2s000j3b6mijr6kwdu@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            On Sunday, the Colorado Department of Agriculture <a href=\"https:\/\/ag.colorado.gov\/press-release\/beef-patties-test-negative-for-e-coli-at-cda-lab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> that McDonald\u2019s\u00a0beef patties used for the Quarter Pounder tested negative for E. coli. The department tested fresh patties from restaurants associated with the outbreak.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2s7srw000083b6m7jw0hqk6@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Based on the findings from that testing and after comparing CDC data with its own supply chain data,\u00a0McDonald\u2019s\u00a0is confident in ruling out fresh beef patties as a source of contamination, the company said in <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.mcdonalds.com\/corpmcd\/our-stories\/article\/always-putting-food-safety-first.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a Sunday news release<\/a>.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2s8khdk001b3b6m5lqsk5nx@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            It\u2019s now asking beef suppliers to produce a new supply of fresh beef patties, and\u00a0the Quarter Pounder is expected to be\u00a0available in all restaurants in the coming week, the\u00a0release\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.mcdonalds.com\/corpmcd\/our-stories\/article\/always-putting-food-safety-first.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2s7srw0000a3b6mif52050d@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The 900 restaurants that received slivered onions from supplier Taylor Farms\u2019 Colorado Springs facility\u00a0will resume sales of Quarter Pounders without\u00a0slivered onions,\u00a0the release\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.mcdonalds.com\/corpmcd\/our-stories\/article\/always-putting-food-safety-first.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">added<\/a>. \u201cThose restaurants are in Colorado, Kansas, and Wyoming, as well as portions of Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Utah,\u201d it said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2s7srw0000b3b6mhackfhu4@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The FDA, the USDA and the CDC say they are continuing to work with partners to investigate the
