It\u2019s not that he jumped deliberately. This footage is in the official case file,\u201d Varela added.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Liam Payne\u2019s fall was caught on property\u2019s courtyard just moments after he fell from the balcony of his room.<\/p>\n<p>Buenos Aires authorities previously said in a statement to Page Six that \u201cdue to the position in which the body was left and the injuries from the fall, it is presumed that Payne did not adopt a reflex posture to protect himself and that he could have fallen while in a state of semi- or total unconsciousness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor\u2019s Office also shared a preliminary report with us, revealing that the former One Direction singer had <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/10\/17\/celebrity-news\/liam-payne-fractured-skull-in-fatal-fall-from-hotel-balcony\/\">suffered multiple traumas<\/a> that led to internal and external bleeding.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, an emergency medical doctor said Payne \u201capparently\u201d suffered \u201ca cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>A previous statement by authorities confirmed Payne had been \u201cunconscious\u201d when he fell. <span class=\"credit\">PA Images\/INSTARimages<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>A preliminary report revealed he died from multiple traumas that caused internal and external bleeding.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Although authorities previously refused to comment on whether the former boy band member was on drugs at the time of his death, substances and paraphernalia were discovered in his hotel room.<\/p>\n<p>A toxicology report later revealed that he <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/10\/21\/celebrity-news\/liam-payne-had-multiple-drugs-including-crack-and-cocaine-in-his-system-at-time-of-fatal-fall-sources\/\">had multiple drugs in his system<\/a>, including crack, cocaine and \u201cpink cocaine,\u201d which is\u00a0a recreational drug that typically mixes methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others.<\/p>\n<p>Hours before his death, many eyewitnesses reported that Payne had been<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/10\/18\/celebrity-news\/hotel-guest-details-liam-paynes-final-moments-before-death\/\"> acting erratically<\/a>\u00a0in the lobby of the hotel.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Payne had been seen acting erratically before his his room\u201d by hotel staff.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was an incident where he was very frustrated and was smashing his laptop in the lobby, and then the final time he came down, he actually passed out in the lobby of the hotel,\u201d the hotel guest said in an interview for \u201cImpact x Nightline: One Direction: Liam Payne\u2019s Final Days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Payne had long been open about his battle with mental health and drug addiction, which started during his time in One Direction and worsened after the band broke up in 2016.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image
