Reddit also grew its number of daily users to 97.2 million, a 47% increase from the same time last year, according to <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/investor.redditinc.com\/news-events\/news-releases\/news-details\/2024\/Reddit-Announces-Third-Quarter-2024-Results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a company statement<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In a <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/s203.q4cdn.com\/380862485\/files\/doc_financials\/2024\/q3\/Q3-24-Shareholder-Letter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter to shareholders<\/a><\/span>, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman said its new AI translation feature \u2014 which allows readers to convert posts between English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German \u2014 was a primary driver of user growth, especially internationally in countries like France, India and the Philippines. Huffman wrote that Reddit plans to expand this feature to over 30 countries going into 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2024 so far, \u2018Reddit\u2019 was the sixth most Googled word in the U.S., underscoring that when people are looking for answers, advice, or community, they\u2019re turning to Reddit,\u201d Huffman wrote. \u201cWe saw this play out in real-time when the White House came to Reddit to share critical information during recent hurricanes, reaching people in the affected areas with timely updates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the company\u2019s advertising remains its main source of revenue, Reddit\u2019s earnings summary notes its <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/genai-training-data-stack-overflow-reddit-9d71b75ec16c78c0d2c51cc46121c1a4\">recent data licensing agreements<\/a><\/span> are beginning to pay off financially. Both Google and OpenAI have signed deals with Reddit to train their artificial intelligence models on its content.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco-based Reddit Inc., whose investors include OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, went public in March at $34 a share.
