They <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/10\/24\/boeing-machinists-new-labor-contract-strike.html\">rejected another proposal<\/a> earlier this month, extending the strike.<\/p>\n<p>The new proposal includes 38% general wage increases over four years, up from a previous offer for 35%, bringing the compounding pay increases to close to 44%, the union said Thursday. It also gives workers the option of a $12,000 one-time ratification bonus or to choose a previous offer for a $7,000 ratification bonus and a $5,000 401(k) contribution.<\/p>\n<p>Boeing said Thursday at the end of the contract, average machinist pay will average $119,309.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We encourage all of our employees to learn more about the improved offer and vote on Monday, Nov. 4,&#8221; Boeing said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Kelly Ortberg said on his first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/10\/23\/boeing-ba-3q-2024-earnings.html\">earnings call<\/a> last week since taking the top job in August that the company has been &#8220;feverishly working to find a solution that works for the company and meets our employees&#8217; needs.&#8221; Hours later, the workers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/10\/24\/boeing-machinists-new-labor-contract-strike.html\">rejected<\/a> a negotiated proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Workers have repeatedly pushed for higher compensation as the cost of living in the Seattle area \u2014 where technology giants like <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-5\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/MSFT\/\">Microsoft<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-6\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/AMZN\/\">Amazon<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> have ramped up staffing \u2014 has surged in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>The strike has further pushed back Boeing leaders&#8217;
