He also mentioned the impacts of the storms on insurance rates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><strong>RALEIGH, N.C \u2014 <\/strong>The extensive damage from Hurricane <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/helene\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Helene<\/a> is estimated to reach well into the tens of billions. Forest Service estimates damage to the state&#8217;s timber at $214 million.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Overall damage from Helene likely makes it the costliest storm in state history, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/north-carolina-governor-estimates-53-billion-helene-damage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to Gov. Roy Cooper<\/a>.
