Northampton County, another Pennsylvania bellwether, leaned slightly towards Trump, with 50% saying they supported him, to Harris&#8217; 48%. Both candidates have campaigned in the state this week. He flipped both Erie and Northampton County, which Trump had won in 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The state is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2024\/10\/29\/blue-wall-states\/75912615007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">part of the &#8220;blue wall,&#8221;<\/a> a group of states that voted blue in recent federal elections, until Trump won three of them \u2013 Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin \u2013 in 2016.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<h2 class=\"gnt_ar_b_h2\">Undecided and third-party voters<\/h2>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Most voters in Pennsylvania have already decided who to support, but with the race as tight as it is, the small percentage of undecideds could sway the results of the election in the state \u2013 and the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">So could third-party candidates. In Pennsylvania, there are two options outside of Trump and Harris on the ballot \u2013 Green Party candidate Jill Stein and Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver. They each notched 1% or less support in the USA TODAY\/Suffolk poll.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_anc\" id=\"gnt_atomsnc\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" data-gl-method=\"loadAnc\" aria-label=\"Newsletter signup form\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">But if the election in Pennsylvania is as close as polls suggest it could be, a candidate with .5% could tip the scale for Harris or Trump, Paleologos said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Jason Danner, 38, is among the few still undecided voters left in Pennsylvania.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">While Danner said he believes that Trump was a good president, he has concerns that Trump uses \u201cdivisive\u201d and \u201cundemocratic\u201d rhetoric and \u201cseems to not respect the Constitution.\u201d On the other hand, he\u2019s worried that Harris would continue the policies of\u00a0Biden.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_img gnt_em_img__inset\"><img class=\"gnt_em_img_i\" style=\"height:450px\" fetchpriority=\"high\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/10\/30\/USAT\/75949353007-jason-danner.jpg?width=300&amp;height=450&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/10\/30\/USAT\/75949353007-jason-danner.jpg?width=600&amp;height=900&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp 2x\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Jason Danner, a 38-year-old undecided voter from York County, Pa.\"\/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">A registered Democrat, when Danner ultimately gets into the voting booth, he said he\u2019s \u201cmost likely\u201d going to vote for Harris. But he\u2019ll just do so begrudgingly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cI voted my whole life,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is almost the first election where I&#8217;m like, I don&#8217;t even want to vote because I&#8217;ve become so apathetic to our political climate.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Sean Doyle said he plans to vote, but will leave the presidential box blank. After casting a vote for Biden last election cycle, Doyle said he can&#8217;t accept that Harris wasn&#8217;t chosen in a primary process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;We needed an honest primary, and that was taken from us,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I can&#8217;t abide voting for the candidate whose party thinks it&#8217;s OK to snub the voters like that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">A veteran who served for 12 years, Doyle said his politics most align with the Libertarian Party, but feels that casting a third-party vote would be a waste of his ballot. In 2020, he decided at the last minute against supporting Trump after he &#8220;remembered all the things that he said negatively about veterans.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">While he favors Democrats&#8217; economic policy, he feels increasingly &#8220;disillusioned&#8221; with the party.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;I&#8217;ve been seeing less and less and less when it comes to anything that actually helps me,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<h2 class=\"gnt_ar_b_h2\">The gender gap<\/h2>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Nationally, Harris is leading decisively among women and Trump has garnered a similar edge with men.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">And in Pennsylvania, that gender gap is \u201cvery pronounced,\u201d Paleologos said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Trump is up by 20 points among men in Pennsylvania, 57% to 37%, while Harris has an 18% hold on women over Trump, 57% to 39%. That\u2019s compared to Trump\u2019s 16-point advantage among men nationally and Harris 17-point advantage among women.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cWhere the rubber hits the road is in the married couple&#8217;s household,\u201d Paleologos said. \u201cIt&#8217;s the married women and married men who are struggling with this election because they&#8217;re talking about it under their roof.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Kathleen Keshgegian, 42, said women&#8217;s rights are central to why she already cast her ballot for Harris. &#8220;I have two daughters, and that&#8217;s my big issue,&#8221; she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_img gnt_em_img__inset\"><img class=\"gnt_em_img_i\" style=\"height:452px\" fetchpriority=\"high\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/10\/30\/USAT\/75942161007-image-24.jpg?width=300&amp;height=452&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/10\/30\/USAT\/75942161007-image-24.jpg?width=600&amp;height=904&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp 2x\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Kathleen Keshgegian, 42, who already cast her ballot for Harris, and her family.\"\/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;I have terminated a pregnancy, and if I didn&#8217;t have that option, I think my life would be totally different, and most likely not a good way,&#8221; said Keshgegian, a stay-at-home mom of three kids, aged 11, 8, and 6, who lives in Oreland, a Philadelphia suburb.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Although Keshgegian voted in 2020 for President Biden because she felt he was the best choice, she &#8220;would prefer someone younger, more in tune with a change in the government, as opposed to the same old white men,&#8221; she said. She feels more connected to Harris, who she finds more relatable and compassionate and less divisive.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Keshgegian said Trump may be able to bring down prices, and she understands people may vote for him for that reason. But she can&#8217;t abide by what she sees as his other characteristics. &#8220;He&#8217;s rude, he&#8217;s sexist. I&#8217;m pretty sure he&#8217;s a criminal,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;I&#8217;d rather have less money in my pocket than have someone with his ideals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_cp gnt_em_cp__sp\" aria-label=\"What to know before, during and after casting your vote\" data-c-cta=\"PREPARE FOR ELECTION DAY\">\n<div class=\"gnt_em_cp_cw\"><img class=\"gnt_em_cp_cw_i\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/10\/14\/PIND\/75671358007-100424-indiana-kids-election-kmw-021.JPG?crop=3374,2531,x0,y19&amp;width=258&amp;height=193&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/10\/14\/PIND\/75671358007-100424-indiana-kids-election-kmw-021.JPG?crop=3374,https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/2531,https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/x0,https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/y19&amp;width=516&amp;height=386&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp 2x\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\"\/><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">That calculus weighs differently for others.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Luanne McDonald, from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, said she has \u201cmixed emotions\u201d about the election and views both Trump and Harris as \u201cterrible\u201d candidates. A self-described independent, McDonald doesn\u2019t agree with Trump\u2019s stances on abortion or women\u2019s rights, but believes Harris is \u201cweak and wishy-washy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">She voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 and plans to again on Nov. 5.\u00a0 When it comes to the issues that matter most to her \u2013 the economy and law and order \u2013 McDonald said she feels Trump will do a better job.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cI could buy a Babka at my Whole Foods when he was president, I can&#8217;t afford it now,\u201d McDonald, a former nurse, said, referring to a traditional Jewish sweet bread. \u201cI\u2019ve never felt poor until now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Unsurprisingly, more than 70% of people who viewed current economic conditions as poor said they supported Trump. Harris outperformed Trump with those who believed the economy was in fair, good or excellent shape.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Eric Huhn, 62, plans to vote Republican, from Trump all the way to the bottom of the ticket.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_img gnt_em_img__inset\"><img class=\"gnt_em_img_i\" style=\"height:461px\" fetchpriority=\"high\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/10\/30\/USAT\/75942160007-image-23.jpg?width=300&amp;height=461&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/10\/30\/USAT\/75942160007-image-23.jpg?width=600&amp;height=922&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp 2x\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Eric Huhn, 62, said he is voting Republican down the ticket.\"\/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The owner of a house painting and wallpaper business in Chalfont, about 30 miles north of Philadelphia, Huhn said economic issues are his top priority. &#8220;Being self-employed, nothing affects me more than what the government does to the economy,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">He believes the Republican platform can deliver.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Cheaper energy &#8220;will help bring down cost of goods, less regulation will also help encourage growth to business,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I like Republicans for their more conservative viewpoints about spending and limited government.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Trevor Borchelt, from Berks County, Pa., describes himself as a Reagan-era Republican, who believes in fiscal conservatism and moral responsibility. But he said the party has lost sight of those ideals under Trump and plans to vote for Harris on Election Day, citing \u201cdemocracy\u201d as his biggest concern.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cI don&#8217;t disagree with some of Trump&#8217;s policies,\u201d Borchelt, 44, said, noting the former president&#8217;s tax and pro-manufacturing policies. \u201cBut if you don&#8217;t pass the bar of accepting the results of an election, [you] don&#8217;t get to be involved in a democratic election.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Trump is facing multiple criminal trials for efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election and has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2020\/09\/29\/presidential-debate-trump-wont-commit-not-claiming-premature-win\/3584421001\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">refused to say that he would accept<\/a> the outcome of the 2024 race.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Borchelt has never cast a ballot for Trump \u2013 in 2016 he voted for Libertarian Party candidate Barry Johnson and in 2020 he supported Biden.
