A wave of water in the village of Chiva, in southeastern Spain, had deposited her there after devastating flooding across the region on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cThe torrent of water took her away,\u201d said Ms. S\u00e1nchez\u2019s daughter-in-law, Pilar Zahonero. \u201cNothing like this has ever happened before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Never had locals in Chiva seen their streets turn into such furious surges of muddy water that tore through their homes.
