{"id":121575,"date":"2024-11-03T11:56:49","date_gmt":"2024-11-03T04:56:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=121575"},"modified":"2024-11-03T11:56:49","modified_gmt":"2024-11-03T04:56:49","slug":"kamala-harris-mirrors-maya-rudolph-in-saturday-night-live-cold-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=121575","title":{"rendered":"Kamala Harris Mirrors Maya Rudolph In &#8216;Saturday Night Live&#8221; Cold Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThree days before the election, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/kamala-harris\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kamala-harris\" data-tag=\"kamala-harris\">Kamala Harris<\/a> made a cameo on the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/saturday-night-live\/\" id=\"auto-tag_saturday-night-live\" data-tag=\"saturday-night-live\">Saturday Night Live<\/a> <\/em>cold open, sharing some words with the woman who plays her, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/maya-rudolph\/\" id=\"auto-tag_maya-rudolph\" data-tag=\"maya-rudolph\">Maya Rudolph<\/a>, as she prepared to give her final Pennsylvania speech of her campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019m just here to remind you, you got this, because you can do something your opponent cannot do: You can open doors,\u201d the real Harris said to Rudolph\u2019s Kamala, making a joke about Donald Trump\u2019s trash truck stunt this past week. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tRudolph\u2019s Kamala then let out a laugh \u2014 something that has been the source of Trump\u2019s mockery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t really laugh like that, do I?\u201d the real Harris asked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cAhhhh\u2026a little bit,\u201d Rudolph\u2019s Kamala responded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe skit was a boost for Harris, as it featured a weary and exhausted Trump (James Austin Johnson) flailing at one of his rallies and gave the real vice president a chance to make a pitch. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019m going to vote for us!\u201d Rudolph\u2019s Kamala said at the conclusion of the sketch. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cAny chance you are registered in Pennsylvania?\u201d the real Harris asked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cNope, I am not,\u201d Rudolph said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWell, it is worth a shot,\u201d the real Harris said, before they both shouted, \u201cLive from New York, It\u2019s <em>Saturday Night<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHarris and Rudolph <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2020\/09\/kamala-harris-hillary-clinton-maya-rudolph-amy-poehler-1234576734\/\">appeared together before<\/a>, and a fundraiser for the Biden-Harris campaign in 2020, when they were also joined by Hillary Clinton and her SNL doppelganger, Amy Poehler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWord that Harris would do a cameo leaked earlier this evening, and became obvious once her campaign pool did a stop in New York and then to 30 Rockefeller Center, arriving around 8 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHarris\u2019 appearance was the first of a presidential nominee since John McCain made an appearance on the show in 2008, also just days before the election. Nikki Haley was the last presidential candidate to appear, in a cameo earlier this year. Donald Trump\u2019s last appearance was in November, 2015, when he hosted the show in the midst of the Republican primary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn addition to Rudolph as Harris and Johnson as Trump, the sketch featured Andy Samberg as Doug Emhoff, Bowen Yang as JD Vance, Jim Gaffigan as Tim Walz and Dana Carvey as Joe Biden. They have appeared in almost all of the cold opens so far this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tJohnson\u2019s Trump, wearing an orange vest, spoke to a rally in a meandering style \u2014 what the real Trump has called \u201cthe weave\u201d \u2014 as he veered from voter fraud to Liz Cheney to his desire to \u201cprotect women, whether they like it or not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWhen you are famous, they let you protect them. Grab them right by the protection,\u201d Trump said. \u201cRemember that? Maybe not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe sketch cut to Rudolph\u2019s Kamala and Emhoff watching Trump\u2019s rally, as she prepared to give her final Pennsylvania speech. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cFox News was telling their MAGA husbands that if their wives secretly vote for you it\u2019s the same as cheating,\u201d Emhoff said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWell, I wish I had the time to personally knock on the door of any of these women and say, Girl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cAnd what does girl mean?\u201d Emhoff asked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cIt means, <em>Girl.<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAfter visits from Biden and Walz, and after Emhoff leaves the dressing room, Harris wondered, \u201cI just wish I could talk to someone who\u2019s been in my shoes. You know, a Black South Asian woman running for president, preferably from the Bay Area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThen, the real Harris appeared, on the other side of a dressing table mirror. The SNL audience gave her 30 seconds of cheers and applause, before she said, \u201cYou and me both, sister.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHarris and Rudolph did a playful rhyming riff on \u201cKamala,\u201d ending with the two saying in unison, \u201cKeep Kamala and carry-on-ala!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAfter she left 30 Rock and arrived at La Guardia, Harris was asked about the cameo. \u201cIt was fun,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBefore Harris\u2019 appearance, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr, who was nominated by Trump, complained that the cameo was \u201ca clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC\u2019s equal time rule. The purpose of the rule is to avoid exactly this type of biased and partisan conduct \u2014 a licensed broadcaster using the public airwaves to exert its influence for one candidate on the eve of an election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe show does not fall under the news exemptions for the FCC\u2019s equal time rule. When Trump hosted <em>SNL<\/em> in 2015, NBC stations were forced to give equal time to other Republican primary candidates.
