assaulted employees in clothing company French Connection&#8217;s NYC factory: suit\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A sicko textile worker ran a \u201crape room\u201d at the at the Queens factory of a major British clothing brand where he openly preyed on female colleagues, a shocking new lawsuit claims.<\/p>\n<p>Greenpoint resident Aleksandra Pietras said the depraved male co-worker began attacking her just weeks after she started working at the factory operated by the French Connection, sexually assaulting her dozens of times for over a year, according to her suit filed Sunday.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>A textile factory worker is suing her French Connection for allegedly allowing an employee to operate a \u201crape room\u201d there. <span class=\"credit\">Michael Nagle<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI never thought something like this would happen to me,\u201d Pietras, 60, told The Post in an emotional interview. \u201cThis man destroyed my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The worker, Jose Sabando, 45, allegedly dragged Pietras to remote parts of the Hollis factory to assault her, until he eventually broke off a padlock to an empty room, where he continued to unleash his torment, the suit states.<\/p>\n<p>Inside the room, where Pietras says she was raped at least four more times, the floor was covered in handprints and fluids, according to the suit and photographs shared with The Post.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The \u201cbrutal\u201d man\u2019s behavior was so well known in the factory that the largely female and Polish employees even told each other to avoid him as he lurked in the hallways during work hours, waiting for women to walk by, the suit states.<\/p>\n<p>At least four other Polish co-workers were victimized, Pietras\u2019 suit claims, and the factory supervisors allegedly either knew or willfully ignored the worker\u2019s reign of sexual terror.<\/p>\n<p>Pietras was fired days after she threatened to go to the police unless he stopped, states her Brooklyn Supreme Court lawsuit, which names Sabando, factory supervisors and the French Company as defendants.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>An image of the \u201crape room\u201d inside a Queens textile factory where a male worker would allegedly drag his female colleagues and force them into sexual intercourse, according to a new lawsuit. <span class=\"credit\">Xinhua\/Michael Nagle<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Speaking through her lawyer who translated from her native Polish, Pietras said she\u2019s now scared to even leave her home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the worst year of my life,\u201d the distraught woman said. \u201cI don\u2019t know how long it will take to put my life back together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pietras began working her minimum wage job as a textile worker at the factory for the French Connection \u2014 a clothing company known for their provocative FCUK branding \u2014 on Jamaica Avenue in June 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really enjoyed the work,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Right away, she noticed Sabando, a gregarious fellow textile worker who would talk and joke with everyone, including her, Pietras said.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks into the job, Sabando \u201cbegan following and accosting\u201d her during work hours, the lawsuit claims.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption> \u201cI don\u2019t want any other woman there to experience this again,\u201d said victim Aleksandra Pietras. <span class=\"credit\">Michael Nagle<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI was walking down the stairs from one floor to another,\u201d Pietras recalled of the first alleged incident, \u201cand he appeared from behind a column.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Without saying a word, Pietras said he suddenly forcibly grabbed her and started kissing her, putting his tongue in her mouth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI became extremely scared. I was in shock,\u201d she said. \u201cNo man has ever done anything like this to me before\u2026 I felt like I\u2019m dealing with a wild man.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pietras was worried that \u201cI was gonna get fired if I say [sic] anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During that first alleged rape, as she fought to free herself, she recalled him telling her: \u201cI love you.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Handprints visible on the floor of the so-called rape room. <span class=\"credit\">Xinhua\/Michael Nagle<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>From that point on, Sabando \u201cbegan forcefully dragging [Pietras] into a space located behind a column within an empty hallway on the second floor of the French Connection Factory,\u201d where he would \u201crepeatedly force her to have sexual intercourse,\u201d the lawsuit states.<\/p>\n<p>The brutal attacks would last five minutes or so until he finished, and typically occurred near the end of her shift, Pietras said, when the factory would be less crowded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was walking towards the subway and crying hysterically all the way home,\u201d Pietras told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From that moment on, the horrific alleged rapes became a regular part of work for Pietras, who said she was violated\u00a0 \u201cdozens\u201d of times between that summer and the end of 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She refused to take breaks at work to avoid leaving the factory floor, she told The Post, and her searches for a new job were fruitless.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to have the job,\u201d Pietras said, saying that she really liked the work.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The attacks allegedly began in abandoned factory hallways behind large pillars, the suit says. <span class=\"credit\">Xinhua\/Michael Nagle<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m gonna try to power through and be strong,\u201d she recalled telling a close friend who had urged her to quit.<\/p>\n<p>Her seasonal work ended that November and Pietras traveled back to Poland for a few months until last spring, when she returned to New York City and to the factory.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pietras said that\u2019s when \u201cit turned into a real nightmare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While she was in Poland, Sabando had allegedly smashed open a padlocked door in the factory where he now brought his victims \u2014 and where Pietras \u201cobserved multiple handprints and liquids on the floors and walls,\u201d the suit claims.<\/p>\n<p>She couldn\u2019t eat for days after the alleged attacks, which she said\u00a0 \u201cwere the most violent and aggressive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI lost 20 pounds,\u201d she said, noting that pants that she had just bought in Poland now barely fit her waist.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The broken lock to the so-called rape room, Pietras claims. <span class=\"credit\">Xinhua\/Michael Nagle<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Pietras started opening up to her Polish co-workers and\u00a0 learned that Sabando\u2019s abuse was an open secret and that past victims had ended up being fired once the violent creep grew tired of them, the suit claims.<\/p>\n<p>Sabando\u2019s girlfriend, who worked at a different company in the same building, \u201cappeared at the French Connection Factory multiple times during [Pietras\u2019] shifts, screamed at her, and called her a \u2018whore\u2019 in front of multiple coworkers and supervisors,\u201d according to the filing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe says that \u2018you\u2019re not the first one. They always do this to him \u2014 they always come and bother him, and you\u2019re just another one,\u2019\u201d Pietras said the girlfriend would tell her.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pietras\u2019 co-workers said that was part of the smear campaign to build a case against her \u2014 that would paint Sabando as the victim of Pietras\u2019 sexual predation.<\/p>\n<p>Sabando allegedly made multiple fake social media accounts in her name this past fall, using pictures of her, and sent messages to himself and to his girlfriend in poorly-translated Polish, the suit states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Oh, look, she\u2019s writing to my girlfriend,\u2019\u201d Pietras recalled Sabando saying to a group of workers in the break room.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018She\u2019s writing to me. She\u2019s insane \u2014 look at that,\u2019\u201d Pietras said he would claim, passing the phone around and drawing laughs from the group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was so embarrassed,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Inside the room, where Pietras says she was raped at least four more times, the floor was covered in handprints and fluids. <span class=\"credit\">Xinhua\/Michael Nagle<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The alleged identity theft and his public \u201cgaslighting\u201d campaign was the last straw, Pietras said.<\/p>\n<p>She threatened to go to her boss \u2014 or to the police \u2014 unless he stopped raping attacking her, the suit states.<\/p>\n<p>Sabando allegedly laughed at her, saying \u201c\u2018this is all your fault. What are you talking about?\u201d Pietras claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Two days later, on Oct. 15, Pietras\u2019 supervisor approached her on the factory floor riding a mini-scooter and fired her without stating a reason, the complaint alleges.<\/p>\n<p>She tried to explain what was going on with Sabando \u2014 even showing her bosses graphic images of his genitalia that he frequently sent unsolicited \u2014 but they told her to leave and never come back, not even to pick up her last paycheck, according to the suit.<\/p>\n<div class=\"single__inline-module inline-module inline-module--newsletter aligncenter aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-newsletter\">\n<div class=\"inline-module__inner\">\n<div class=\"inline-module__title-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"inline-module__unsubmitted-title-wrapper\">\n<h3 class=\"inline-module__title headline headline--combo-sm-md\">\n\t\t\t\t\tGet all the stories that move New York to your inbox\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<p class=\"inline-module__cta\">\n\t\t\t\t\tSign up for our Metro Daily newsletter!\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><h3 class=\"inline-module__title headline headline--combo-sm-md\">\n\t\t\t\t\tThanks for signing up!\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Days later, Sabando allegedly emailed her to say, in his trademark poorly auto-translated Polish, \u201cwhy did you tell them?
